In this photo you can see the movement in it because I used a slow shutter speed, and you can also see the background clearly.
So one thing lead to another and I found myself looking at pictures of jellyfish. I’m astounded by jellyfish movement they flow smoother than melted butter and people know not to come in between me and butter.
Movement can be captured through poses, they’re in the middle of an action and you’re like “Oh wow, they’re ____________” so you know they’re moving in some way. It doesn’t necessarily have to be boring, just look at this jellyfish! Are you really gonna tell e this jellyfish is boring? I think not
I know, it’s a loaded question. Heck, it’s a loaded word, that one — good. According to whom? By what measure? Who do you think you are to criticize my work? I know. And, I agree. But I suspect there are still a few checks we can make to see if an image is headed in the right direction. Let’s look at five of them!
-It is hard to determine what is considered “good” art
-Five factors that contribute to great photographs include: technique, composition, subject, story, and integration.
-We use our technical skills to show what we want in an image and create a specific effect. Technique allows a photographer to effectively translate their vision and emotional intent into reality.
-Composition is the arrangement of elements in an image. Elements including line, colour, value, shape, and form. Lines lead the eye across the image, areas of contrast draw our interest, repeated forms create patterns, colors evoke an emotional response.
- The subject of an image can elicit a subconscious, emotional response. It is very important to capture subject matter that is unique or captured in a way different from other images to produce a good photograph.
- A great story gets viewers’ minds consciously engaged with an image and is a very powerful tool to impact the viewer and make your photo memorable.
-Integration: The four previous ingredients should strengthen one another, to make an image its most effective. Technical choices should strengthen the composition. A composition should guide the eye to the subject(s). Subject(s) should work together to tell a story.
-Not all of them are necessary for a good photograph. They are to be kept in mind and used to evaluate images.
Heelo and welcome to the second part of my Digital Scrapbook adventure! Now that I’ve done this one there are more constraints, meaning there’s a t h e m e. We’re looking at motion and how that can be depicted through different iterations.
We’re starting out pretty simple with this one, by having a rather slow shutter speed to show the blurs of the speedy bois to show that they are indeed moving.
The main reason l chose to go to the gym was that this is the more typical and basic form of showing movement by taking photos of subjects moving at a fast pace because not only do their poses and setting show what they’re doing but that can also be inferred by the blurs in the shot.
Also l just thought it was funny seeing Alex look like a running chicken :)
