Herbert Hoover, the Republican presidential candidate in the 1928 election, is seen with Charles Curtis, his running mate. This meant they had to maintain an image of friendship because of the campaign. In reality, the two men were at such odds that they refused to pose together for a photograph. They hated each other so much they didn’t want to pose with each other so the cropped 2 photos together to make this one. The categories these pictures fall into Creative and it’s because when I first looked at it I didn’t really think much of it but when I looked at his hand that’s when I noticed.

This photo was distributed by the Associated Press with the caption: “In a photo taken, Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, It was taken during an exchange during a fire with government forces in Telata village. After the photo was released, Narciso Contreras admitted to editing the photo by taking his camera out of the shot because he thought that the person looking at it was going to get distracted and not see the real point behind the photo. The categories these pictures fall into are Aesthetic because Narciso Contreras was just trying to make people understand the real point and meaning behind the image and he didn’t want any distractions in the way of that.

This photo was taken on May 2, 1945, and it shows red army soldiers raising the Soviet flag over the Reichstag as they defeat Hitler’s Army. This is one of the most popular photos not only taken at the time of WWII but still to this day. At the time Yevgeny Khaldei was the Soviet photographer in Moscow and he wanted to recreate the photo so he flew to berlin with some soldiers and took the photo and quickly flew back so he could print his film. Before the photo’s first publication in Ogoniok, a Russian magazine, Khaldei scratched from the film negative multiple wristwatches worn by the Russian soldiers, concealing Soviet Army looting. They also added dark clouds of smoke at a later version of it. The categories these pictures fall into is Aesthetic because they tried to hide the fact that the soldiers did loot by taking the watches of their hands.

This photo was taken during the Iraq invasion, and it shows a British soldier warning a group of Iraqi civilians to take cover from a nearby fire and the  Los Angeles Times published it. the image also ran in the Chicago Tribune and the Hartford Courant but they captioned it “Warning: A British soldier manning the Azubayr Bridge orders fleeing Basra residents to hit the dirt as Iraqi forces open fire. The top left image shows the soldier with his arms out and the man trying to move. The top right photo shows the man looking at the soldier and the soldier just standing there. The 3rd photo shows the soldier with his arm out and the man looking at him. Chicago Tribune manipulated and edited both photos to make it seem like the soldier was doing something horrible. The categories these pictures fall into is deceptive because they made it seem like something was worse then what it really was.

On August 5, 2006, there was an overnight raid on Beirut’s suburbs and because of this many buildings were destroyed in the process. The picture to the left isn't the real photo because it was manipulated and played with to make it look like there’s more smoke then there already is. The picture to the right is the real photo and the person who took it didn’t say it was edited and a lot of news outlets used his photo and a lot of people thought that it was way worst then it really was. The categories these pictures fall into is deceptive because they made it seem like something was worse then what it really was.

In this photo you can see the movement in it because I used a slow shutter speed, and you can also see the background clearly.

I took this photo at 1/125 shutter speed, and you can see the movement with the ropes.

When taking this photo I used a 1/250 second shutter. I made it so you could look at the background, and also I made sure to capture the movement in the two subjects jumping.

I really like this photo because the person is on their bike and it’s late at night. The person taking it used a fast shutter speed on their camera and also they’re panning with the shot.

- There are two different types of mechanisms that control the amount of light that enters which creates an exposure.

- The larger the opening, the more light gets through and the brighter your exposure will be.

- Aperture measures the size of the opening, and the shutter speed measures the timing on when the light can go through.

- Aperture and shutter speed both work together with ISO to help you figure out how your image will look. 

- ISO is an electronic component that will affect the brightness of an image.

- When you see someone jumping and they’re just frozen in the photo, this is because the shutter speed is fast.

- Shutter speed can also determine how much motion you see when moving the camera.

- Shooting at 1/250 of a second should be for everyday shooting.  

- Shooting at 1/15 of a second will really make any motion noticeable.

- Shooting at 1 second or longer can create some amazing effects.

- The shutter speed really just depends on the lighting of what you’re trying to capture.

- It’s all about timing. As a photographer you want to make sure that you take that one iconic shot.

- When you’re taking a photo remember that you’re not only shooting for you and that you’re shooting for other people as well.

- When taking the photo make sure to capture the person’s face. In most cases the artist is being covered by an object or isn't in the photo at all.

- Make sure to take it when the artist is slowly starting to move the object out of way. 

- Make sure that the object is visible in the photo. People want to know what the person does.

- If you want the photo to do good you want it to stand out the most.

- Keeping the subject at the same distance as it passes by.

- They recommend closing the aperture to f16 and setting your shutter speed to a 1/30th of a second.

- If you’re shooting at f16 you get more of a focus. 

- You remove the subject from the background by adding motion blur.

- It’s better to shoot when it’s dark because you can use the cars and their headlights to add more effect.

- If the object in the photo is moving during the shutter, the image becomes blurred.

- If the object moves across only a small amount of the image, it will be slightly blurred.

- When the shutter is faster, it freezes the image.

- The longer a lens is, the smaller its angle of view will be.

- If a lens has a narrow angle, the object doesn’t have to move very far for there to be a blur.

- If the camera is very close to the object, any movement of the object will cover a fairly large area of the image area, at a moderate shutter speed.

- You can control the amount of image area in a photo by making the shutter speed faster.

- If the shutter is fast enough, even if the object is moving fast, it still makes it look like it’s standing still.

- You can make the image slow down by moving with it.

- Panning is when you stand in one place and swing the camera to follow the movement as you’re clicking the shutter.

- If you’re using a fast shutter speed and the object is really fast you can get a better shot with the fast shutter speed if you’re panning.

- Blurred motion can even be used effectively with immobile objects.
