I am one of those ppl that don’t mind discoursing, but after a while it makes my Anxiety get really bad bc like.

I love dsmp, I do. In all its splintered, bruised, sometimes bad writing glory.

But even for me, too much discoursing can make me feel not great. I don’t like being negative constantly, esp about a series I genuinely enjoy.

Idk dsmp has always been that series where you gotta take the bad with the good. Its in equal tandem.

I love how me and @sleepypuffpastry are just in mutual agreement that c!hotelduo deserve the world.

Just!!! c!Sam loves c!Tommy so much!!! But he never tells him!!! It could be bc no amount of words could be enough to describe it. Maybe bc there was never a good enough time. Maybe c!Sam just knows c!Tommy will never see him as a father figure.

Non requited familial love, me thinks.

There's a c!Tommy-shaped space in c!Sam's heart, and it fills up more of it than he ever thought possible.

Like I really want those two to sit and talk, I want Sam to tell Tommy everything.

I’ve noticed that there’s a lot more soft c!tntduo fics in the past couple months than there used to be. I feel like this has something to do with the fact that it’s somewhat to counteract the extreme amount of fanfics that depict them both ooc as all hell (you know the ones I am talking abt, where c!wilbur is a malicious, possessive, manipulative asshole, where the two have a power dynamic for some reason, where it’s just…. :/)

Not to say that the soft fanfics are bad, bc I am not, I much prefer those, but even I have to admit those oftentimes depict them ooc as well. Bc with the soft fics, you get the other extreme where they aren’t frustrated with each other, where there isn’t much challenging each other, where things are a bit too domestic, a bit too easy. Bc those characters relationship has never been easy.

This isn’t a dunk on the fic writers, I mean hell I am guilty of writing them a bit too soft as well, I guess the point is to say that c!tntduo is an extremely hard relationship to write if you don’t understand both characters well enough. You either end up making them too soft and vulnerable to each other, or you make them villainous and malicious.

(And before anyone comments, I get that a lot of soft fics are meant to be a what-if scenario where they do briefly let their walls down around each other, allow themselves to be a little more tender and open. And you’re absolutely right in hoping that would happen, as I do myself. But I’m just saying that oftentimes the specific dialogue and such in those fics isn’t always the most in-character.)

Anyways if you say “lmao minecraft rp cringe” then you need to realize that ALL fandoms are fucking cringe in their own way.

You’re literally dedicating yourself, no matter how big or small, to something that is most likely fictional. But the reason people engage in fandom at all is bc it’s a method of escapism. To cope with the harsh realities of the real world.

You’re not special for acting so holier than thou to teens online.

“Why are you taking it so seriously, it’s fictional” yeah and what if I busted your kneecaps.

Anime and cartoons are just drawings on a screen. Books are just words on paper. Why do you care about those things? They’re not real.

Oh wait, it’s because the story matters to you. The characters matter to you. The authors and creators take the story seriously so you take it seriously.

Just because it’s a different and odd medium of telling a story makes it no less valid. It encourages more creativity, actually.

My point is, don’t mock people for being invested in this stuff, you literally have nothing to gain except for your own petty self-righteous points. You’re not being funny, you’re being a dick.
