I Will Follow You Into The Dark

It's so frustrating sometimes. Some days, I just about have given up on myself while other days I'm ready to be someone. There's a reason between living and surviving, and right now I'm surviving, at least trying to. 

I'm trying to survive the lack of ambition that floods my being. I'm trying to survive being trapped in a place where nothing is mine anymore, not even my happiness. I'm trying to survive meaningless work that's supposed to make my life more meaningful. I'm trying to survive being okay with all of your decisions because I'm not one to judge. I'm trying to survive the piece of my heart that still hurts every time I see you.

But most of all I'm trying to survive the battles that go on deeper inside of me than anyone can see. The battle between who I am and who I want to be. But who is that exactly?

I'm standing in front of a mirror and I don't recognize the person behind the glass. And that's terrifying.
