PROTOFORM: Where were you onlined? What was childhood like?
Optimus stares down at the question on his datapad. “I was forged and brought online in the Cybertronian city-state of Iacon, though back then I was known as Orion Pax. My kind does not have a childhood in the same way many organic species do, but from what I have seen and heard from others, my upbringing was much easier than most. I had caretakers who led me to the academics and other higher callings, I always had enough energon to consume, all of the privileges of being a member of one of the higher castes.”
Optimus frowns. “However... My opinions on the caste system itself, namely the opinion that it was-- and still is-- wrong, left me alienated from many others within my normal circles, even among the intellectuals and other security members at the Iacon Archives. It wasn’t until--” He cuts himself off suddenly. “Ah, I... suppose I have already answered the question, haven’t I?
CAMRADERIE: Tell us about your comrades or squad. Do you get along? Would you rather work with other people?
Optimus Prime leans forward so that his elbows are on his desk, clasping his servos together. He seems to think about it for several moments before saying, “The current team I am with has some of the most loyal and talented individuals among the Autobots.
“Prowl’s strategic mind is a marvel, even if his focus on logic can sometimes make him appear... aloof. Ratchet has some of the steadiest hands on Cybertron, and that was even before the war broke out, but his cynicism and general, well, grumpiness, as the humans put it, can be grating. Arcee is a fairly new addition, and has a near-flawless infiltration record according to Elita-1, though I have also heard that she has sent her fair share of friend and foe alike to the medical bay outside of those missions. Bulkhead has just as must compassion as he has strength, but his issues with memory and focus can be concerning at times.”
Optimus leans back. “They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and like all teams, we have our ups and downs. Arguments break out, tensions run high, insults and unkind words are thrown, but at the end of the day, I am more than proud to say that I trust them all with my life.”
