baby's first plural coining post
stanza: a group of system members with an inherent, unchosen connection to each other
similar to clusters, but the connection in a stanza is not necessarily related to any similarities between members
members of the same stanza might feel positively, neutrally, or negatively towards each other
stanzas may be more easily predisposed to having specific relationships with each other in-system (platonic, familial, romantic, alterous, sexual, etc) but they do not have to, and their connection is not defined by any in-system relationship they might have
stanzas can be identified from the outside (especially by other system members), as the connection is not something defined by the alters in the stanza. being part of a stanza is decided at formation (or equivalent), not by anyone in the system personally
related terms:
couplet: a stanza made of two system members
tercet: a stanza made of three system members
quatrain: a stanza made of four system members
quintet: a stanza made of five system members
etc. based on poetic terms (look up other numbers if you* like, or feel free to use stanza regardless of number)
introjects in stanzas might be sourcemates, in a stanza with an introject from an entirely different source, or they might be in a stanza with a non-introject. members of stanzas may form or otherwise make themselves known at similar times, or far apart from each other. members of a stanza might be in a sisasystem together, be in different sisasystems, not be in a sisasystem at all, or any other configuration. they might be extremely similar or complete opposites
essentially: the connection has no apparent pattern or meaning. but it is undeniably there
poetic: a system made mostly or entirely of stanzas. meant to be placed in front of your* preferred term (system, plural, collective, etc)
a member not part of a stanza in a poetic system could be called a monostich
