#dubia roach

a freshly peeled angel in my dubia roach colony! this is a male, and this will be his final molt now that he's got his adult wings. over the next several hours his exoskeleton will harden and turn opaque brown. it's rare that I get to glimpse my roaches in this state, they tend to hide when they're soft and vulnerable like this.

(these dubias are pets, not lizard food! Bug Club has been running for several years before Pepita came into the picture!)
