What is a “dubism”?
a Dubism is when the the dub of a show states something that was not apart of the original material/translation. it is most notable in anime english dubs. It can be something minor to a complete an utter rewrite of a character/s.
A prime example of this would be in Sailor moon In which Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune are introduced in the English Dub as cousins when in the original dub they were implied to be in love with eachother.
Or basically 90% of the 4kids dub of one piece.
Earlier dubisms were made as a means of censorship.
But there are cases when it is simply taking liberties with the material or miscommunications.
