Okay, hi there cadets! Sorry about my... eh, more than brief hiatus. Not really announced, oops, but there you are. I’ve been ghosting since i’ve been so busy and actively involved in my community! Let me summarize quickly in a few brief points: 1. Drill Competitions, back to back 2. I’m now the Boys JV Lax Manager at my school! 3. I’m now the S-3 Assistant 4. I’m up for Battalion Commander and Command Sergeant Major, so I have an interview with my SAI in about two weeks for those positions. Now I can speak fondly on my competitions with that out of the way! We went to Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina to compete in a drill meet. There were only eight schools there, the competition wasn’t good, the judges were inexperienced ROTC cadets, and we got stiffed for individual awards. I’m not entirely sure how we can get perfect scores in multiple events and still not place at all in those events. I don’t think we’ll be returning to that competition. However, the Seahawks Drill and Raider teams attended the Century High School, Sykesville MD spring Drill/Raider Classic this past weekend and made a clean sweep across almost every single event. The following are our placements for drill, since i’m not 100% on what all Raider won. 1st Place Overall 1st Place Overall, Unarmed Regulation 1st Place Unarmed Inspection 1st Place Unarmed Squad 1st Place Unarmed Platoon 1st Place Unarmed Exhibition 1st Place Armed Inspection (Commanded it!!!) 2nd Place Armed Squad 2nd Place Armed Platoon 2nd Place Armed Exhibition 2nd Place Color Guard Winning inspection was the most incredible part and gave me brownie points with my instructors. My unit has NEVER won inspection, let alone armed inspection and get first place in either armed or unarmed. It was really great and i’m so glad that the team managed to pull something really great together under my instruction.
