Henny & Roo: Duck Box May 2018 Review

Hello Everyone!

I’m very excited to review a super special box that Henny & Roo released! Normally, they offer monthly boxes for chicken owners, but this time around they had a box for duck owners. I just purchased my first few ducklings, so this box came at the perfect time for me.

Full disclosure, I’m trying to amp up my photos and offer a little more value. So, I decided to do this after I had already opened up this box, and one item (a sticker) had already been put to use so it’s not in the ‘fancy’ photos. However, I have included my normal phone photos as well so you can see both and all the products.

As aforementioned, I’m missing the sticker that was sent with this box because it was already in use, but look at how FULL this box is!

Yeah, so I was going for a bright background - I might have over done it a little bit. Anyways, I’m so grateful for this book from Lisa Steele because I was looking for something to read before my ducks arrived - and this is absolutely perfect.

(Y’all, I can’t help but love my phone photos because Pumpkin helps out. Maybe I just need a different colored sheet and some better lighting?)

Yep, my ducks are taking over my life AND my home décor. I had to physically fight my mom to keep this plaque - I kept it, but Mother’s Day IS coming up, right?

(Anyone want to donate lights to my cause for better photos when I’m at home?)

These herbs help freshen up nesting boxes and/or coops (or whatever you’re housing your ducks in). I’m grateful for this product too because my ducks seem to have a...*unique* smell no matter how often I clean their pen.

(The shadow of my phone is seriously bothering me, sorry guys).

This bag is HUGE! I mean, look at it compared to the box. I LOVE that this is a full sized item, and I’m sure my ducks will feel the same way.

(Apparently Pumpkin likes meal worms too???)

This is my FAVORITE item int he box! It’s a tin cup that says, “All you need is love and ducks.”

(I’m COMPLETELY obsessed with this mug. Completely.)

This box also came with lots of great paperwork for protecting your chickens, lime, bugs, and a thank you card.

(Pumpkin is weirdly interested in this paperwork for some reason.)

Ducks need some nutrients that chickens do not, and those nutrients can be found in Brewer’s Yeast (shout out to Lisa Steele for teaching me that in her book!). So a nice, large bag of the yeast is much appreciated.

I would love to hear back from you guys - am I headed in the right direction with my brighter, better lit photos (but maybe a darker background) or do you think I just need to tweak my home photos? Let me know!

Anyways, Henny & Roo has done it again. I absolutely LOVE this duck box, and if they started offering it monthly, I would be all about it. If you have ducks, this is the box for you!
