hello anon here who recently got the rots novel! i knew anakin didn’d give obi-wan his padawan braid but man. reading it. ouch. (also i find it pretty funny that whenever anakin thinks of obi-wan and padme, he nearly always puts obi-wan before padme? very clown like behavior)

but yeah seriously giving the padawan braid to padmé is in my opinion one of the most disrespectful things that anakin does to obi-wan and to the jedi. it's incredibly telling that he takes this symbol of all his training—a physical manifestation of all the time he and obi-wan spent together—and gives it away because of romantic love.

someone commented on a post of mine once with like "of course he gave it to her, it was all he had to give, and that's so romantic" or whatever and like. that's all he had to give?? his training?? his commitment as a jedi? i don't even care if it's fanon that braids are usually given to masters, it makes sense to me. that's a token of respect. i wonder if obi-wan noticed that anakin kept his braid and what he made of it..
