Legend has it that St Eugenia of Rome converted to Christianity by Helenus, bishop of Heliopolis while pretending to be a man. (She ran away from home dressed as a man). She joins a monastery while pretending to be a man and later becomes the abbot. She would later cure a woman of an illness, to which the woman made sexual advances, which St Eugenia rebuffed. In retaliation, the woman accused her publicly of adultery. She was taken to court, where, still disguised, she faced her father as the judge. At the trial, her real female identity was revealed and she was exonerated. Her father converted to the faith and became Bishop of Alexandria but the emperor had him executed for this.
