This image is so captivating. I have so much love for this as an art piece, never mind the subject and how much it means to me. There's so much duality here. The subject at first glance is hiding their face, which indicates not wanting to be seen. But with the other hand, and body posture, the subject is leaning in towards the viewer, and drawing attention to themselves. We see both hands, so we are to assume unarmed and harmless, with a relaxed vibe, but then with just their fingertips, the subject is shown clearly harming/drawing marks onto their skin with their bare fingers. The soft but mysterious dark purple monotone thru the whole piece, and then vibrant red eyes, peering through a lidded gaze aimed directly at the viewer. Is it a threat? A promise? Making sure you're watching? Watching your reaction? This piece is so fucking beautiful, and I wish I had a canvas copy of it to hang and forever break it down because godDAMN I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
