Anyone who has ever breathed near a comic before has surely seen some variation of the “97-pound weakling” who becomes a MegaHunk after doing the Charles Atlas series of exercises. Charles Atlas, as it turns out, was a real-life fitness nut/MegaHunk/occasional statue model babe in the 1920s and ‘30s. The second example is a direct parody featuring Charles Galactus, but I think they should have done one with Charles “Darth” Vader, since he actually did take the bodybuilding course.
