[#RECAP] 3rd Annual Shorty Social Good Awards
The 3rd Annual Shorty Social Good Awards occurred on November 15, 2018 in New York City and was hosted by Dulcé Sloan. The show honored the many brands and organizations who have committed to making a difference in society through their various works of charity, partnerships, and impactful calls to action. But what’s it like attending the Shorty Social Good Awards? Here’s an inside look at the experience:
CHECKING IN
This year upon checking in all guests received official Shorty pins which designated whether they were a part of a brand, agency, non-profit, or a Real Time Academy member. These pins were great for what we had in store next:

The musical performance at this year’s Shorty Social Good Awards was phenomenal! We were honored to have Damon C. Scott in association with the Peacetones perform music that moved you to the core. Damon shared his story interspersed with powerful messages and reminders all while guiding the audience along a compelling musical journey.
Our Impact Award honoree this year was Jackie Cruz! Known for her role on Orange is the New Black, Jackie has been utilizing her platform to bring awareness to issues spanning gender and racial equality, LGBTQ+ community building, and criminal justice and immigration reform. From her involvement with campaigns like Paula’s Choice to starting her own production company to increase diversity in Hollywood, Jackie is using her voice to leave a big impact on the world. THE AFTER PARTY

Dulcé Sloan is hosting the 3rd Annual Shorty Social Good Awards!
We are excited to announce that Dulcé Sloan will be hosting the 3rd Annual Shorty Social Good Awards on November 15th in NYC!
Dulcé Sloan is the latest full-time correspondent to join Comedy Central’s “Best F#@king News Team” on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and was just honored by Variety Magazine as a Top 10 Comedian To Watch. She has also been named by Rolling Stone as one of the 10 Comedians You Need To Know and was hailed by TimeoutLA as a 2017 Comedian to Watch. She has also been honored as the 2016 NBC Stand Up Showcase Winner, a Montreal Just For Laughs New Face and as a Comedian to Watch on The Steve Harvey Show.
Dulcé has “a voice that doesn’t pander or bully but comes at you straight. With a chaser of Joy,” according to Ozy.com. She offers a fresh and honest perspective that speaks truth to power and eviscerates the status quo. She was cast in the FOX pilot Type-A opposite Eva Longoria and the Amy Poehler project Dumb Prince for NBC. She has also appeared on MTV’s Acting Out, Comedy Central’s @Midnight, Tru’s Comedy Knockout, made her stand-up debut on TBS’ Conan, and has made multiple appearances as a correspondent on E! News Daily. Her signature point-of-view and confidence drives her hilarious views on everything from her personal relationships to the absurdities of society.
