Congratulations to Justin Chancellor on receiving Bass Magazine's Lifetime Achievement Award! Kudos to the band for not only showing up to support their brother but also surprising the crowd with a mini concert, playing 'Schism' and 'Jambi.' Dream Come True || Andrew Garfield
Andrew Garfield x Wife!Actress!Pregnant!Fem!reader
Summary: It was finally time to find out who was the winner of the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role and next thing you know you are on stage giving a thank you speech...
TW: Fluff, Crying (Happy tears!), Mention of Pregnancy, Kissing, Award Show, Actor/Actress AU, Sappy Thank You Speeches
Word Count: 1,610
A/N: Y/FM = Your Favorite Movie
This was such a fun one to write especially since I tried my best to make a very convincing and nice thank you speech. I was trying to follow along to a speech that Emma Stone actually gave in 2017 when she won the award but it was a bit too long so I tried to make it as realistic yet heartfelt as possible. Also I decided to let the reader pick what movie they are winning an award for so hopefully that part seems more fun/inclusive. Thank you so much Anon for the request and hope you enjoy it!
Your fingers were drumming nervously against your belly, you were sure the baby could probably even feel how anxious you were. You looked to your right, your husband Andrew holding your hand in his, fingers intertwined, his hand giving yours a squeeze of reassurance while you waited for your nominated category to be called.
Ever since you were a little girl acting was all you ever wanted to do in life and by some miracle, luck, and maybe a few good talent agency managers along the way you were able to get up to this level of acting, Oscar-nominated. When you had gotten the call that you were nominated for "Best Actress in a Leading Role" you were already over the moon with the news as it is. It was truly such good news to hear especially since after taking leave to focus more on having a smooth pregnancy you had fallen into a bit of a slump not being able to go to work every day or be on set. You missed all the action but you would always remind yourself that finally getting to have a baby with your husband was more important than your career and thankfully you were finally getting recognized for the hard work you have been putting in all these years.
Andrew took notice of how sweaty your palm seemed to become in his as you were lost in thought staring at the award stage, seeing backstage crew members run back and forth while they were setting up for the next award to be given as commercial break seemed to still be rolling for the people at home.
"Is everything ok darling?" He asked turning towards you while he slowly lifted your hand to his lips and placed a soft kiss on your skin.
"Yeah...everything is fine just nerves you know." You shifted anxiously in your beautiful long glittery beige dress and your leg seemed to start bouncing at how much anticipation you were in.
"You're the best actress I've ever known and no matter what an award won't change that. You're so talented and I just know you will win it." He gave you a small smile as he looked at you with those soft brown doe eyes of his and you took your free hand and cupped the side of his face, stroking his cheek as you looked into his eyes.
"I can't believe I got so lucky to have the world's best husband, you spoil me in compliments too often my love." You said with a small chuckle.
"I would argue that and say on the contrary. I don't spoil you enough and I will definitely be spoiling our little one very soon with all the love I have to give." His free hand softy touched your belly, feeling the baby kick and he couldn't help but have the biggest smile on his face. He was truly so happy to finally be a father.
"You truly are the best, I love you so much." You declared while you leaned over in your chair pressing your lips to his, giving him a quick kiss as the music started to play and the lights dimmed.
"I love you too." He savored the kiss the most he could before slowly pulling away and making sure he was still holding your hand as the next announcers walked up onto the stage.
You quickly turned your attention to the stage and listened carefully as the announcers spoke.
"Welcome back everyone!" Both announcers had said in unison into the mic as they stood next to each other by the podium.
"Next up we want to honor the most talented women in the industry of film. Actresses that have brought to life some of this year's outstanding characters." The first announcer had said into the mic as he passed it to the woman next to him.
"Tonight's nominees for best actress in a leading role are..." The second announcer pointed towards the big screen as scenes from the movie you had starred in were playing when your name had been mentioned among the many others.
JESSICA CHASTAIN
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
Y/N
Y/FM
OLIVIA COLMAN
The Lost Daughter
PENÉLOPE CRUZ
Parallel Mothers
KRISTEN STEWART
Spencer
"And the Oscar goes to..." The first announcer paused while he had opened the red envelope and you were practically staring at the stage, you closed your eyes and were holding your breath.
"Y/N in Y/FM!" Both announcers had said at the same time.
You had finally let yourself breathe and you immediately popped out of your seat the fastest you could and immediately Andrew was already wrapping his arms around you as he stood up, hugging you closely and kissing your lips quickly. You kept just nodding your head in happiness, the feeling of excitement not quite hitting you yet that you really won.
"You did it darling! Now go on up there." He encouraged you to make your way down the aisle and carefully you lifted your dress and took long strides to the stage trying to play it cool even though you could already feel the tears welling up in the corner of your eyes.
While you walked up to the mic, you saw both announcers holding the golden Oscar in their hands as they handed it to you. Your hands shakily grabbing the heavy weight of the award and you quickly said your thank you's to them both as they moved out of your way. You tried to compose yourself for the speech of a lifetime while you stood at the mic, staring into the crowd of faces. You hadn't rehearsed nor did you have any idea what to say at all so you tried your best to speak from the heart, your eyes tried to focus on Andrew knowing that he was the only thing that could calm you down.
"Wow...I-I don't know where to even begin! I'm just so thankful to everyone who made this a reality for me. Funny enough as a little girl it was my dream to be up on the stage winning an award just like all the actresses on TV that I admired. Well, my dream really has come true after all these years of pouring blood, sweat, and tears into my passion. I want to thank everyone in this film project who had faith in casting me for the role, being able to be a part of such an amazing project really made me realize why I choose to begin acting in the first place. I want to still congratulate all the other nominees and to all of you women you are such amazing actresses with so much talent, it's always an honor being able to know and work with you all. I want to, especially thank my parents, my siblings, and..." You took a moment to pause, your voice already starting to choke up but you tried your best to remain clear, your free hand laying on top of your bump.
"Lastly to Andrew, my husband. He has been my rock and support system throughout my whole career and I wouldn't have been able to do this without him. I love you so much and I can't wait to start a new journey with you very soon. Thank you and goodnight everyone!" You were in tears now at this point, your vision blurry that you could barely even see into the crowd anymore.
You were completely overjoyed and this feeling was something you had been longing for. You tried to hold your trophy in one hand, your other was quickly trying to wipe tears and hopefully not screwing up the makeup on your face. Both announcers had looped their arms with yours, ushering you off backstage while you tried to compose yourself. You held the Oscar close to your chest, gripping it tightly as if you were afraid it would be taken away but your headshot up when you heard your name called.
"Y/N!" You were grinning ear to ear when you saw that Andrew was running towards you, his arms wide open for you to fall right into them.
"I can't believe it! I actually won..." You had made yourself comfortable in his embrace, his arms wrapping around and pulling you close, your head burying into his chest while your tears were being wiped on his tuxedo.
"I knew you were going to win, I had no doubts about it." He softly whispered into your ear, one hand cradling your head close while the other soothingly rubbed at your back.
"Thank you, thank you for always believing in me..." You whispered as you pulled your head away from his chest and looked up into his eyes, his hands cupping the side of your face as he admired all your features even in the dim lights backstage.
"Of course, I will always be your number one supporter darling," His smile was soft and sweet while he touched his lips to your forehead and kissed it.
"I think a celebration is in order once we get back home. I can finally pop open that champagne from France we bought a while back." He suggested with a small smirk on his face.
"Certainly, except you better hold the champagne for me, I'll be celebrating with water." You said with a laugh and Andrew just shook his head as a chuckle came from his lips.
"I'll make sure to toast twice for ya then." His hand had quickly rubbed at the top of your baby bump and you looked up at him smiling when you felt the baby kick.
With a small giggle coming from how funny your husband could be at times he quickly grabbed your hand and started to lead you back to your seats in the crowd. As you clutched your Oscar in hand, you looked down at the shiny gold trophy, finally you could happily say all your dreams really had come true.

Okay, so I am an Army and BTS is my Bias Group, but I hate the Mama voting right now.
In every category where BTS is nominated they are on top, and as a girl that likes more than one group, it's honestly sad. Because I think in categories like best dance performance, for example, other groups deserve the win. (like Ateez, Seventeen and NCT127) Seventeen were robbed last year as well.
So this is in no way any hate for BTS they do deserve wins, but I'd just like to show the world, there is more than one K POP band out there. But maybe that’s just a Multistan problem. But I’d like Army to vote honestly and not just click the name BTS ‘cause they see it.
(Honestly also not sure if I should tag BTS at the bottom, because Army is gonna see this as hate, even though it’s not really)
