Here’s a list of my favorite Donnie and Daniel/Donnie headcanons I’ve tweeted.
Donnie has needed glasses since high school, but only wears contacts because he’s self-conscious about how he looks in his glasses.
After a while, Donnie becomes okay wearing his glasses, but only late at night when watching TV at Daniel’s house.
He almost always dozes off in them.
In high school, Donnie played for a local rugby team.
As an adult, he still has drinks with his old rugby team on occasion.
One day, Donnie joins his old team for a reunion game of rugby.
He invites Daniel but Daniel refuses to go. (Kate goes and gets really into cheering Donnie’s team on.)
After the reunion game, Donnie turns down drinks with the team in favor of going to Daniel’s to hang out and crash on his couch.
When he was a teenager, Donnie was in a school production of the musical Grease (not as a main character, but he was still proud of himself).
He kept the T-birds jacket he wore in the play and acted innocent when the teacher asked for it back.
Donnie Ryan loves cheesy romance movies, but he tends to get emotional because he starts comparing himself to the male lead and feeling inadequate.
Donnie is colorblind, and he has been since childhood.
Donnie learned basic American Sign Language because he interviews a lot of people for work who can’t afford professional interpreters/can’t get interpreters on such short-notice.
