I grew up down south in a very rural area full of poor people on drugs.
This is important to know because it means I have a lot of first hand experience with the dumbfuck. The dumbfuck is not a black sheep. The dumbfuck is not an intellectual insult. The dumbfuck is that one family member who everyone fucking tries to teach to not be a dumbfuck over and over and over again because the dumbfuck is capable of acting appropriately and having manners and having a whole life and all that shit.
But they just cannot stop being the dumbfuck.
And the family--the whole fucking family--spends a lot of time and effort and love and years trying to get this person to stop being a dumbfuck. And the dumbfuck may even give the appearance of listening and growing! Small changes might happen! But. Like.
An example: Tommy Dumbfuck keeps dating women who steal from him. His family for three generations talks him through what they all have in common, and so Tommy Dumbfuck finally stops dating women who are freshly out on a warrant. Unfortunately, Tommy is the dumbfuck, so he ends up dating women who "only" have a "couple DUIs."
Tommy Dumbfuck doesn't have the money to pay rent because he wanted new tires for his souped up truck. His family for three generations helps him learn to budget. He sticks to his budget for six months. Then he can't pay rent because he bought a junker to fix up. Which he will not fix up.
It's not that Tommy Dumbfuck is stupid or useless. It's that he's just got a chronic case of dumbfuck.
Anyway, JD Vance thinks he knows more about theology than the Pope.
