You know, if Trump actually had a brain, and was actually determined to be dictator or something, he’d be pushing for free healthcare for everyone. He’d be increasing the minimum wage. He’d be engaging in a program of bread and circuses. Right now he’s giving us a circus, but no bread yet. Gotta be both man, gotta be both.

Of course, Trump is an idiot and he has no intention of being dictator.

Since the election, women on the right have been touting their feminist hero, Kellyanne Conway and criticizing progressives for ignoring Conway’s perceived blow to the patriarchy by being the first female to lead (after Trump’s first and second picks, both men) a campaign resulting in the oval office.  

Yeah, no.  We saw her.  We saw her support Ted Cruz early on and call the now president “vulgar”, “un-presidential” and demand the release of his taxes.  Then we saw her used as a puppet to whitewash away all of her prior convictions and help Trump win more support from GOP women.  Forgive us for not tallying this as feminists 1, patriarchy 0.  We usually don’t support anyone, man or woman, that uses their platform and position of power for the betterment of the good ol boy system.  And that’s what she did.  

She became a good ol boy to make it in the good ol boy world.  It happens to the best of us.  In our never-ending quest to be respected as equals, many morph into the very thing that is responsible for the inequity.  Laughing at sexist, racist, homophobic jokes; agreeing with ideas to further the socioeconomic gaps; and otherwise providing no outside viewpoint of your own, you too can get accepted!  Wohoo you made it!  How’s it feel?  A bit dirty? Not especially helpful to you or the cause, is it?  The problem is – if it walks like an old, white man, talks like an old, white man and thinks like an old, white man, it’s probably not a feminist.  Thus, we withheld the gold star.  Throwing it back to middle school English class, Webster’s dictionary defines feminism as “the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes”.  When you sell your soul to the patriarchy, feminists view you as part of the problem, not part of the fight.

Conway adorably calls her “brand” of female empowerment “conservative feminism”.  Like diet racism, this is bullshit.  You either believe in equality or you don’t.  Conway has not been a superhero for women.  She was a toy used by assholes to coax people into thinking the current administration is not full of bumbling, racist, misogynist idiots fucking up America’s public image, crippling the domestic economy and weakening our global power.  The problem with the fake feminism rampant in the current White House is it feeds directly into patriarchal society.  Ivanka Trump is another example of this.  She speaks well and pretends to give a shit about the inequality, but she’s doing fuck all about it.  She, too, was used to smooth over her own father’s despicable outlook on race, women relations, among all things related to the actual job he campaigned for. Her fake title, given to her by her daddy does not help the way women in power are viewed—wherein we either slept our way through the system, morphed into the system itself, or were given the job because a man thought it would be so cute if we dressed up to carry out their bullshit policy and be the scapegoat when it comes time for critiques. Fuck that.  

The second these fake feminists stray from the hardline GOP platform, they’re out.  Take a look at Tomi Lahren.  Used as an angry mouthpiece, her fake feminism served her well.  The second she formed an opinion based on her own circumstances as non-male, and she was shit on.   The GOP wants one view and one view only.  If you stray, you will be silenced and abandoned.  This is not diet feminism.  This is the patriarchy and your time playing dress up as a conservative “feminist” will come to an end.
