I have reread MHA multiple times. And chapters with good bkdk content, forget about, I can't even tell you how many times I have scrutinized each panel. So explain to me why I am just now seeing this:

My new favorite thing is watching my [anime only] sister watch the war arc. Because she'll see...well... *waves hand at all the bkdk canon content* and whip her head over to me like I somehow convinced studio bones to prank her.

Don't get me wrong, I am stoked to see "Katsuki Bakugo Rising" finally animated... But do you feel the weight of this moment? This is a huge turning point in the series. The war arc specifically is where anime only watchers will see the narrative change and Bones is who shows it to them. How they choose to handle the animation of chapter 285 will tell us if they are following Horikoshi's vision for this change in narrative or if this is where they break off. The tension is palpable and all we can do is hope it doesn't snap.

Alright. Let's talk about this coaster set....in what realm do we make a set of FORTY FUCKING FIVE COASTERS- FUCKING COASTERS- of just TWO DUDES with some INTENSE ass emotions and it be completely fucking chill? They have the audacity to look at us unblinking and say "yeah, they're rivals" while handing us FORTY FIVE COASTERS of them in matching outfits and their most emotional scenes. Maybe I wouldn't call bullshit if it had been a normal 4-6 set but 45?! This is like that recap video they made with the angsty music and then only showed bkdk the whole video. Like bruh. Come on. Just say it. Just fucking say it.

I am l i v i n g for all this new bakudeku content I'm seeing. I know some people were not stoked to see the bird people migrate to us but honestly, I'm being fed and it turns out I'm a cheap date.

Another thought on Studio Bones and season six. My Hero Academia has been nominated in the Anime Awards every (active) year since the show started. But it's stats have gone down. Here is a little breakdown in case you are unfamiliar:

2016 (Season 1): Nominated 7 / Won 1

2017 (Season 2): Nominated 10 / Won 8

2018 (Season 3 & Second Film): Nominated 6 / Won 5

2020 (Season 4): Nominated 3 / Won 2

2021 (Season 5): Nominated 1 / Won 0

With the last two seasons being the build up and catalyst of the war, the pace was slower and brought in less accolades. They knew this. Just like they now know that if they want to bring those big numbers back onto the board, THIS season is finally their time to shine. THIS, season six, is what they were betting on when making seasons 4 and 5. If they wanna win that elusive Anime Of The Year award that always seemed to slip out of their grasp, they gotta go all out. So for those of you being positive, I say, who knows...maybe they won't pull their punches this time and will actually get us a knock out.

Last night I was watching a show with a couple friends, my husband and my sister. Now, my sister, my husband and myself had all seen the show already but my friends hadn't. My sister kept interrupting every two minutes to ask about who was who and what was happening. I eventually lost my mind, as one does with siblings, and this is how it went:

Me: YOU'VE SEEN THE FUCKING SHOW! WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Her: THAT DOESN'T MEAN I REMEMBER! DO YOU REMEMBER EVERY SHOW YOU WATCH?!

Me: YES! WH---

Husband: Yes, because she watches content down to the details.

-Silence-

It never occurred to me that not all people who partake in fiction content do this. I guess that is what makes me an obsessive dumpling. 🤷
