I’m working on a project for a class exhibition where I’m looking to represent the positive strengths of headcanons of fictional characters within fandom spaces, and am hoping to collect different people’s headcanons of a specific character to reflect this idea.

People shipping Mei and Otta bother me when they downplay the horror that Chilchuck would feel at his daughter dating a former slaver, when halffoots are a very oppressed and disadvantaged people themselves

Chil is a champion of halfffoot civil rights and this would set off every warning bell in his head and not in a cliche “I don’t want my daughters to grow up” way

How can he trust an ex slaver with his daughter?

The ship could be interesting but his very real fears should not be downplayed as “haha funny” for laughs like i often see
