NATASHA DENONA TROPIC PALETTE 

Yesterday I was lucky enough to receive this captivating Summery palette from the talented Natasha Denona, renown for producing extraordinary eyeshadows that pack a punch when it comes to pay-off and longevity.  TROPIC is the latest addition to Natasha’s ever-growing palette repertoire, but... this one is limited edition!! And I think it will sell out fast. 

The deep turquoise palette with the red ND logo on the front is so attractive and eye-catching, it just exudes tropical exoticness, which is the very nature of the design. Obviously.

Let me take you through the palette: 

TROPIC contains 15 brand new shades!! So as you can imagine, I was most excited to swatch them all, and I was not disappointed. The top two rows are described as a mix of pastels, medium and nude shades, and then along the bottom are tropical and exotic shades. The finishes are as follows: * 10 Creamy Matte * 2 Sparkling (Mint Frost & Gusti) * 2 Metallics (Tiger Lily & Exotic) * 1 Duo Chrome (Limoncello)

Each colour has been strategically placed within the palette to make matching the shades easy when it comes to application. Each vertical row creates a whole eye makeup look, for example; Peach Puff would be applied to the mobile lid, Nudist would be your transition shade that fades up towards the brow bone, and then Mint Frost would be used along the top and lower lash line for a pop of colour.  You can, however, mix the shades from the palette to suit your own preference. Natasha’s design has made it easier for those who lack confidence or creativity when it comes to pairing colours.

I’m sure you will agree with me that the pigment pay-off is incredible, and in both lighting environments, they are equally punchy and vibrant. Checking out Natasha Denona’s Instagram account I saw swatches of each colour, and there is no denying just how incredibly smooth and intense these shadows are, but what I did notice is that my ‘Tiger Lily’ shadow wasn’t as creamy and intense as the one shown. Natasha swiped hers once and it was super vibrant and opaque, mine definitely isn’t. It took about 5 swipes to build up to the same intensity, which is a shame as that’s my favourite colour to look at in the palette. It’s not bad, just not as I expected. Hopefully, mine is a one-off.  That being said, it was the only colour I noticed a difference in, the rest were equally impressive.  My other favourites are Mint Frost, Laguna, Pastel Melon, and Peach Puff. I also love Limoncello, it’s a pretty lemon tone that would be amazing on the inner corner of the eyes.

TROPIC will be available from the 8th of March at Sephora, Beautylish, and Natasha Denona. It’s paraben free, talc free and cruelty-free. The price of the palette will be $129.00 USD, approx £92.00 GBP. It is a little on the expensive side for many, I know, but it’s SO worth it. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to eyeshadows, and Natasha Denona never disappoints.
