The Evening Star Inn
The Evening Star Inn is where you will find the door to every AU that currently exists. It is filled with thousands of doors, each leading to a different AU. If you use a key to get into the MVC, this is where you will pop up, coming out of your own AU's door, of course. All other doors will be locked unless someone from that AU has left it unlocked.
Characters: Twin Runes KFC @akanemnon | Ghost Switch! Azzy & Frisk @clevercatchphrase
Once you leave your AU, an Underplayer will be ready to greet you and lead you to the TSA area, where you will be required to leave all of your weaponry. They will have you walk through a metal detector, just to be sure. If you have nothing dangerous on you, you're free to continue into the MVC. Any weapons will be placed into a locker for you to pick up upon return. It is for safety reasons.
Unfortunately, some AUs are either left unfinished and abandoned or are too dangerous to return to due to genocide or other murderous reasons. These doors are usually boarded off to deny access. In the case of abandonded or unfinished AUs, this is just temporary until the AU is completed. Wouldn't want anyone wandering into an unfinished world after all. However, in the case of Genocide or similar AUs, it will remain boarded off and the key is to be destroyed after the survivors are rescued. The door will then be turned into a memorial for those that didn't survive.
While on the topic, another thing to note is that if your LV or Attack is too high, you will be given a magical restraining bracelet. Only a few people aside from the Underplayers have authorisation to remove this, those people being Gaster(specifically the one at the desk), Sugartale Pappy, and Inky. It does you no harm. It just keeps the wearer from using powerful attacking magic.
If you ever wish to manually save your progress in the Underground while you are here, you can go have a little chat with Gaster at the front desk. He'll jot your file info down quick for you in his big book full of info on all of the timelines.
People you will find here:
Duotale!Gaster (Aka The Gooey Boi)
This is the guy who basically started the MVC. Sure, he didn't have much in mind at the start, but he was able to finish a small town by the time the first inhabitants came along. For now, he decided to leave the decor to his partner so he could settle down and put his focus towards save state and timeline management. If you ever have issues with timelines, he's your guy to go to. He will help save your progress or fix any timeline issue, as long as it is within his ability to do so. Unless he's out and about, you can usually find him at the Inn.
MVC Ink!Sans (OG Ink by @/comyet )
Inky is what we consider the "mayor" of the MVC, as he is another of its founders. When Inky arrived after he was erased from his timeline, he assumed this was an empty void of nothingness and was prepared to spend his life this way. However, Gaster found him and quickly got him onboard with the whole Citadel idea. Using his magical brush (which fell into the void when he did) Inky could basically create whatever he wanted as long as he has the paint to do so, so he helped Gaster spruce up the place, adding a splash of color, buildings, greenery, and most importantly, the doors that allow people to come and go from this place. (Though this was harder than expected even with a scientist and magical paint.) He's always 'busy', so you'll rarely see him. But your best place to start looking would be his office, which is right beside the Inn....or in the sky, napping on a pink cloud.
Sugartale!Papyrus (Aka The Doorlord)
If you meet him on a trip to the MVC, your best bet is to get on his good side fast because this guy has the key to every AU door known to exist. And he can give you a copy of your own.... if you convince him you're a good guy. His key, when used, will turn any door of your choice within your AU into a portal that gives you and anyone who walks inside easier access to the MVC. Of course, this comes with risk as ANYONE can go in and out of the door as long as you leave it unlocked. Also, a warning never loose the key. For if you do, the door will remain accessible to all until this guy has the time to fix your mess, which might take a while if your AU isn't problematic.
