Store Utsav wishes you all Shubho Saptami and a Very Happy Durga Puja! 🙏🏻🙂Handmade sculptures, hand painted, hand decorated - Indian festivals are hallmark of handmade art & craft. In Durga Puja, Hindu Goddess Durga is worshiped at the community level. The top left image is Dhol; right is the complete Durga stage; second left is Durga Maa; Below it is Prasad. We did Saptami Puja (the first Puja of Durga Puja) with Pushpanjali in the morning. :) This routine goes on for 3 days. On Dashmi or Dusshera, the installation is dismantled and the idols immersed in rivers. Celebrate Art & Culture with Store Utsav! #durgapuja #durgapujo #durgapooja #navratri #navratri2017 #pujo2017 #pujo #durgabari #kalibari #navdurga #mahishasurmardini #dhol #pujapandal #storeutsav #storeutsavonetsy #storeutsavfashiononetsy #storeutsavonamazonindia #storeutsavfashion #storeutsavfashiononebay #durga
The 'Dhak' or this percussion instrument shown in the photograph is an Indian indigenous instrument. The 'dhak' is as quintessential to the Durga Puja as is shiuli and kash flowers. The sound of the 'dhak' is believed to be the auspicious herald of the descent of Goddess Durga and her children from heaven to earth. The 'dhakis' or the percussionists gather around and immerse themselves in a performance that accompanies the Aarti or the rites performed to worship the gods. Today the sound of the 'dhak' is an eponymous herald of the onset of shārat or autumn and it's festivities. #indiaigers #festive #igers #community #cultures #peoplegraphy #culturegram #bnw #durgapuja #pujadays #indigenous #peoplegram #dhaki #dhak #durgabari #kolkata #kolkatadiaries #kolkatagram #celebration #like4like #pujaproject
