Jeanne Dusseau and Nancy Evans sing Cavalleria Rusticana (1939)

Nancy Evans shared the title role of The Rape of Lucretiaִ with Kathleen Ferrier in the opera’s opening season (1946). Rumor has it that Britten preferred Evans. Jeanne Dusseau was a successful Canadian singer who made frequent appearances in the United States and in Britain in the 1930s and 1940s.
