Chapter 10
I feel like we don’t often talk about how painful it would be to arrive in a world where everyone has a talent and you realize you don’t have one. That’s what makes the books so much more immersive than the movies for me. I mean in the first movie Tink didn’t really want to be a tinker but that’s not the same thing as Prilla straight up not knowing her talent. I think what’s worse than that for her is not a having a friend though. She says it more than I remembered and it’s kind of heartbreaking.
I remember reading this for the first time and being sad for her but part of me was like, “Well she JUST got there. She couldn’t just have friends instantly!” But couldn’t she? If she already knew her talent then that’s instant friendship or at the very least connection. Just one friend could’ve made all the difference.

Chapter 3
Prilla meets Vidia briefly in this chapter and is obviously about to suggest that she use some of her “fresh” dust IF she’s a fast flying talent. My question is, does Vida actually want other fast flying talents to be as fast as her? If I was the kind of fairy that had done what she did I’d never share the dust. Part of me feels like she wants other fairies to rebel with her. I’m not sure though.
