Normally, Dusty's very chill, fittingly dubbed "the cool one" among his friends. Quick with a joke, slow to anger, and almost never raises his voice.

Get him talking about wrestling, however... and his true passion will be unleashed.

This originally started as me attempting to give Dusty as new haircut so it wouldn't be a near-exact match to Morton's. But, like always, I gotta go another mile or two =w="

I guess I started mentally comparing the Corey sibs, where the visual aspects of one is reversed for the other. Makani having red hair and wearing pink, Dusty having pink hair and wearing red, square eyebrows and pupils for M, round eyebrows and pupils for D, and… no wait, I think that's everything :3

The only thing they share without any reversal involved is the color green. M's eyes/earrings/fire magic with D's boomerang. And I guess his eyes as well, since the color is teetering juuust on the edge between blue and green.

Playing with Power-Ups

Since Leon and Dusty (as well as the rest of their friend group) started out in the Marioverse, it's only fitting that I try giving them power-ups at least once :3

But I wasn't gonna risk nearly crashing the program like I did the last couple times I drew all five of them in one pic, so it's just Leon and Dusty for now, with the super leaf and boomerang flower respectively! Complete with both human and hooman versions because it took like... I dunno, ten minutes to edit the differences =w=)b

Yeah, I just didn't draw it this time =w=

I kinda regret drawing all five of them individually and then trying to mesh them all into one pic, because MAN was it tricky to arrange them in a way where you could see them/their weapon of choice. Sorry, Tuno, Ellie's blocking out your hockey stick a little there… :'D

Dusty's hair just seems to get bigger every time I draw it =w=""

I think out of all the kid characters, Dusty's had the least amount of development backstory-wise. Sure, his design has changed here and there (mainly his hair), and he's gone from being a Makani/Roy Koopa fanchild to Makani's baby brother, but other than that, not much has been added to this little heart-themed fuzzball.

Here's what I got so far:

Dusty Corey is the Cool Kid. Practically a Dalex Jr., Dusty is the one that just goes along with whatever his friends have planned. Even if their antics lead to trouble, Dusty always finds some form of enjoyment out of the ordeal, even if that enjoyment amounts to poking fun at his friends when things don't turn out the way they expected. It's harmless fun, though; he ain't the malicious type.

There's another reason behind his jokes and teasing, however: Dusty is a hopeless romantic. Even at the age of 12, he's prone to developing crushes on other kids his age at an almost alarming rate. Every other week he's found someone new to fawn over from afar. ...Or from really close by as he's gotten puppy-love crushes on everyone in his friend group of five at least once. Currently, he has a thing for Leon, but Dusty is subtle enough to keep the Koopeleon in the dark, along with every other person he's ever swooned over. Not even Dusty knows why this keeps happening, but he just rolls with it like everything else in his life; it's not hurting anyone, and taking a moment to adore someone makes his own heart warm... =w=

Speaking of Leon, one could call Dusty the Brawn to Leon's Brains. Much like his big sis, Dusty is very physically strong. Heavy lifting is this kid's middle name, and he's always ready to help move heavy stuff around if asked. Or break stuff, like rocks. He likes that too, since smashing things lets him test out some cool wrestling moves.

Oh yeah, did I ever mention Dusty likes to wrestle? 'Cause he does. His favorite wrestler is a Yoshi named "The Great Gonzales Jr." ;3c
