Rising Artist of the Month: Simha Youth

Simha Youth. Powerful, impressive and passionate. These are just a few keywords that describe the up and coming artist. 

Simha is a rapper and all-round artist based in the vibrant city Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her tracks give a refreshing feeling as she fuses hiphop with lo-fi and samples dialogues, setting a very specific tone which screams ‘Simha Youth’. Simha conveys her message and world succesfully through her tracks.

This is impressive since Simha is quite new in the game. For an artist to have such a peculiar style that is present in every track is amazing, to say the least. 

To give an example; Simha’s track ‘Everyday’ has a chill beat as she raps in a casual manner with her voice echoing in the background. The sampled dialogue, which is of a couple arguing, completes the story that Simha is telling. 

Then there’s Simha’s recent release ‘Barie’. When listening to ‘Barie’ you will immediately feel a sense of relaxation. Again, Simha sets her unavoidable chill tone, it could be a trademark by now. A few seconds into the song an energetic beat gets introduced, adding a fun spin to the song. When the song ends you’ll undoubtly want to listen to it again. 

Now I can talk all day about Simha’s music but, as you know, music is made to be listened to. So, why not check it out yourself?

so this is basically a post about dutch music that is popular in the netherlands atm & to which native speakers actually listen themselves. i think you can find most of the songs on spotify - you can search for them or check out the dutch top 50. you can also find most of them on youtube.
