Official sign of successful adulting, suburbia-style. 😁 For the non-Dutchies: every year kids in the last two grades of grade school go around selling especially designed "Kids stamps" (= @Kinderpostzegels) to raise money for charity. It's a long standing tradition, since 1924. After buying the stamps, you get this little stamp to stick under your doorbell as a proof of purchase, and so that kids can see that you have already bought stamps, so that they don't have to ring your bell. In my former neighbourhood there were literally no kids in the stamp selling age, so I would always just ask my mom to buy some for me. But lo and behold, I now have my very own proof of purchase underneath my doorbell. I feel very accomplished and adult now. Ok, ok, the whole truth is that no kids showed up here either, probably due to Covid. However, the Kinderpostzegels have gone modern, and I was able to buy them online from @niki.hamerhaai 's daughter, and receive this printable proof of purchase. 😸 The stamps will be delivered in a couple of weeks, they're @nijntje_nl stamps, so I'm stoked! 🎉 #kinderpostzegels #doorbell #successfuladulting #stamps #Dutchfacts #dutchhistory https://www.instagram.com/p/CFfo3SFJX_I/?igshid=1llcyggvdx33n
