my blanket warms me. what is its motive? consider that my blanket warms me with my own warmth, that i warm it, too, that without me my blanket would be cold as all surrounds. my blanket warms me because it wants to be warm. that is my motive, too, for warming it. there's a mutuality here. i'm like a blanket to my blanket and my blanket's just like a blanket to me.
Dear Writer 🍁 🌙
i know september can feel heavy. the days are shorter, the air is colder, and sometimes the words just don’t come the way you want them to. that’s okay. really.
your story will still be there tomorrow. your characters aren’t going anywhere. even one sentence today is enough. and if you didn’t write at all, that’s okay too. you’re still a writer
please drink something warm, wrap up in a blanket, and give yourself permission to rest. the leaves are changing outside, even if your pages aren’t, and that’s still beautiful.
you’re doing your best. i’m proud of you. 🧡
I am still a writer if I write it bad.
I am still a writer if it’s bad the first time I write it.
I am a writer, I’m allowed to write it bad.
Write it bad, or it will never be written.
I am still a writer if I write it bad.
Someone in an AO3 writer thing I'm in: Oh, I only use AI to find words to use, it puts all the words in a document groupded by different parameters, so helpful, especially as I'm in a verbiage rut! I only use it about 25% of the time! The rest of the time I use a thesaurus and other conventional means! I don't use it to actually write for me!
Another person: I use AI to see if something is OOC for a character! It's honest and will say yes or no!
Another: I use it to answer my spicy and erotic questions!
Another: I use it to check spelling and grammar!
Another: I use it to bounce ideas off of!
Another: What I write vs what I think a character would do is different sometimes, so I talk with AI all the time and consider their thought process (the words the commenter used, not me, Halo) to make sure the characters aren't OOC!
In multiple comments/the general consensus of these comments: AI is a research tool! It's a tool for creativity! It's a documentation tool! We only use it to help, we don't actually use it to write for us! We're still doing the writing! We're using AI in a good way!
My genuine reaction to all that bullshit:
Does anyone use Ao3 for original works? Like no fandom, just a book that the author didn't want to go through the bother of publishing, so they stuck it on Ao3?
Me whenever I’m at work and can’t write at that moment: I must write RIGHT NOW. If I don’t write I will DIE
Me, when I’m at home and can write: what are words
