It's Thursday, which seems reason enough to share a fancy binding, even if it's not a publisher's binding!
Loving the decorated paper used in this binding for Astronomica veterum scripta isagogica Graeca & Latina.(Heidelberg, 1589.)

We’re eyeing the gorgeous green Dutch-gilt paper wrappers on our copy of Prayers and Hymns for the Use of Children (1800) on this #WrapperWednesday
Dutch-gilt paper was a popular decorative paper produced in the 18th and early 19th centuries, and can be found in a variety of colors with embossed or printed decoration mimicking popular brocades and damask fabrics of the period.
Watts, Isaac, 1674-1748. Prayers and hymns for the use of children. Whitehall [Pa.]: : Printed for W. Young, the corner of Chesnut and second-streets, Philadelphia., M,DCCC. [1800] 32 p. ; 10 cm (24mo)
Imagine our delight when we opened the envelope that houses this pamphlet to find it wrapped in this gorgeous Dutch gilt paper. There are always surprises to be found in the stacks.⠀ ⠀ Joh. Frider.
