The historic Alfred Street Baptist Church announced it would fund the Black student government whose funding was cut at Mizzou over DEI restrictions “We take care of our own people,” said Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley.

The fact that Black students needed a church to step in because institutional support was cut is shameful. Calling equity efforts “DEI” like it’s a dirty word doesn’t change what’s being lost—opportunity, support, and representation. Of course, we all now that's the point. To stop Black/Brown people and women from advancing in society.
