Stutz DV32, straight-8 engine with 4 valves-per-cylinder
1933 Stutz DV32 with a Convertible Victoria body by Rollston. Although it was just as technically advanced, powerful, and luxurious as it’s Packard, Lincoln, and Cadillac competition, the fact that it had a straight eight instead of a V-8 or V-12 gave the Stutz a considerable disadvantage in the cylinder race of the 30′s. You could buy two Auburn V-12 convertibles for the same price. The DV32 was a sales failure and the company filed for bankruptcy just a few years later.
