Colour Correspondences/ Hohufshi mehudih

in an effort to make my magical practice my own, I went back to absolute basics. Colour magic is one of the first things we usually learn as beginners to set the foundation for the rest of our practices.

But, as colour is extremely important in the symbolism of my religion, it felt weird using other peoples correspondences that have nothing to do with my spirits. I've started with the main 8 colours (next group will be PInk, Brown, Black,White). I drew two cards for nuance.

I encourage anyone who is feeling disconnected from their practice to try something like this: take a basic concept or tool and pull cards to determine what it means for you! Crystals and herbs I believe will be next.

Nuance: Red represents willpower. It is not good or bad it just does and the goal is the make the best of what happens. However, if you do not learn from your mistakes, you will be making the same mistakes and never satisfied.

Nuance: Orange represents thought. The ability to plan and hope for the future as well as learn from the past. Unwillingness to use your thoughts leads to ignorance.

Nuance: Yellow represents the self. In it's purest form it is self love and ambition, in it's dark form it is elitism and cruelty. You are only above others because you stomp them down.

talked to my therapist about this and wanted to talk about it here, mainly UPG

everyone's always "as above so below our worlds mimic each other" but only seem to focus on how the divine is reflected onto our realm. If we are connected, if we are mirror realms reflecting each other, then the spirits have an ecosystem too!

I think a lot of spirits that people encounter that are "tricksters" or "evil" are just... serving their ecological function. Especially when travelling in the astral.

"but I got a bad feeling so it MUST be evil!" if you're walking in the woods and look up and theirs suddenly a bear there, would you call the bear evil for being wary of you?? is a vulture on the side of the road eating a dead raccoon evil?? every spider who is 1000x more afraid of you??

same with cleansings and stuff. People are so intent on clearing ALL the energy away it ends up sterile. just like there is helpful and harmful bacteria it's the same with spirits. I believe there are types of spirits that we would classify as detritivores and that generally get the reaction that irl detritivores get : yuck ew nasty kill it!

when I want bad energy or stuck energy to go away, I feed it to a detritivore spirit to be digested and turned into something else. sometimes yes the detritivores get overwhelming and suck energy out of things I don't want to, but I just need to feed them.

like fish tanks, like your gut, like your garden soil, there needs to be microorganisms, creatures cleaning up the used energy to renew it. you don't need to spiritual sterilize your space to be safe, you need a healthy dose of spiritual probiotic!

I am now naming these spirits in my practice as khufhodvum (khoof-hodvoom) meaning "waste eater" since that's was detritivore means lol
