I have no idea who Christopher Lee is but after a brief scroll through your blog I have decided that every character he has ever played is gay. I don't make these rules I'm just the messenger.

Ok I think I sent either u or some other wicker man fan a message ages ago saying i think lord summerisle is maybe an avatar of the islanders’ goddess Avellenau. (sp?) i kind of still believe that.
OOOOH YES YES YES!! either you probably sent it to harri afieldinengland or it got eaten by my ask box, because i don't remember recieving anything of the sort, but i agree!! although i definitely lean more towards him being the embodiment of the sun god, nuada. christopher lee himself actually talked about the imagery with his WIG of all things, which is at it's strongest during the final sacrifice when the wind blows his hair into wild rays, shooting out from his head like those from the sun.
even beyond just that, i totally think there were believed to be several gods in human form on summerisle. i mean, in lord summerisle's first scene, he directly calls willow 'the goddess of love in human form.' why would that be limited to just her? also, sidenote, i'm like, 99% sure that it was harri who brought up the idea that miss rose would be avellenau, which i LOVE.
especially with his role as the all powerful community leader, with him at the center, the people of his island revolving perfectly around him. he is warmth, he is burning passion, he is blazing heat and the center of it all and is also the worst and he sucks so bad and i want to hit him with a metal pipe.

i am HORRIBLE with decisions and narrowing it down to two was honestly hard enough as it is 😭😭 these are both SUCH fantastic additions to their own genres (classic technicolor gothic horror throwback with extra boobs + groovy out of touch with the youth campy disco vampire bonanza, respectively) and i love them for such vastly different reasons i can't bring myself to choose just one!!
and to drive home my poor decision making skills i'll add that my runner ups were the curse of frankenstein 1957, the devil rides out 1968, and to the devil a daughter 1976! i just haven't seen those a billion times like i have with dracula, so there's no way i could rank them above it, you know?

OH FUCK umm.... i'm gonna have to say van helsing, i think. both lawrence and lorrimer, if that's allowed!! baron frankenstein is such a weird gay little freak (affectionate), but i've seen the hammer dracula movies so many more times, and his van helsing is just so COMFORTING. and how could you ever forget THIS classic moment.

i've got nothing but love for bela lugosi's dracula, especially since his was the adaptation that got me started on this whole mess, but i'm gonna have to say christopher lee's dracula for a whole host of reasons!
he clearly was super dedicated to giving the character as close to a book accurate performance as possible which is admirable enough on its own, but it's SO funny to see him acting his heart out in the progressively horrible and terrible hammer dracula series 😭😭
also... he's hot. i'm sorry everyone. i'm just going to say it outright. HE LOOKS GOOD! HE'S TALL! HE KNOWS HOW TO WORK A CAPE! he's the reason i realized i'm bisexual! everyone say thank you chris lee!
now if i were to choose a favorite non-dracula vampire... either herbert von krolock from tanz der vampire, ingrid pitt's carmilla from the vampire lovers 1970, or countess marya zaleska from dracula's daughter 1936. what can i say! i love my gay little vampires!
