Only 6 Days left to get the lowest priced Coal Hill Registration Options!

Hi everyone!  

We have just 6 days left on our Fundraiser and we’re at 78% of our initial goal. If we exceed that goal before it closes we have some fun additional stretch goals to announce!

Perhaps most importantly - There are only 6 days left to guarantee you get the lowest price possible for Coal Hill Registration! We realize that Coal Hill Convention is a ways away and many of you are budgeting for other conventions that occur between now and then.    That being said we do want to remind everyone that registration to the convention will never been cheaper than it is during our EARLY BIRD option during the Fundrazr.

Also as a reminder – we said that if we sell 20 or more registrations during the Fundrazr period we will be giving away an exclusive Coal Hill Convention tie tack style pin to every single registrant who got an EARLY BIRD Registration during the Fundrazr period!

We are currently at 11 registrations sold which means we only need 9 more to ensure that the Coal Hill Pin becomes a reality!

Some some of you may not be aware that Discworld Cons are totally a thing and have been for years! And there’s quite a few of them! Below you’ll find a list, already compiled for you. (Not by me) 

The International DWCon These biennial events are the largest Discworld gatherings, and are based in the UK. The next one will be held on the 26th-29th August 2016 at Chesford Grange Hotel, near Warwick.

Scheibenwelt Convention The German Discworld Convention 10th-13th September 2015 at Burg Ludwigstein, Witzenhausen, Germany.

Nullus Anxietas VI The Australian Discworld Convention The next one will be on the 4th-6th August 2017 in Adelaide.

Cabbagecon The Dutch Discworld Convention. The most recent one took place on 27th-28th June 2015 at the Tulip Inn Hotel Val Monte, Berg en Dal, Netherlands.

NADWCon The North American Discworld Convention Sadly the NADWCon team are currently unable to hold a full-size convention, but there will be a 'mini-NADWCon' at Worldcon 2015.

Polish Conventions These happen twice a year in Nawojowa Góra, near Kraków. The previous one was on the 10th-12th April 2015.

Wincanton Events These events are organised in association with the Discworld Emporium, and usually happen twice a year (Spring Fling and Hogswatch), in the town of Wincanton, UK. More information can be found here.

It’s important to check back on these sites if one is near you or...happens to be the only one in your country, because many advertise fan groups/clubs for your state, country or provance. As well as other discworld themed events that are happening around the place. Many also have facebooks as well. 

For example there’s one in Auckland NZ trying to organise a play. (x)

Even if you don’t see yours listed here, please note that these are almost all affiliated with each other, you may find others in your area. Or perhaps wish to start your own. It’s a risky business, but I’ve been there and helped out at mini cons and they are still worth it no matter the size!

I rediscovered this video I took at Dragon*Con 2011, of Sylvester McCoy talking about the creation of his Doctor Who costume. Never posted it anywhere, and had completely forgot I'd even filmed it. Now recovered from the vaults of my external harddrive!

We kept Paul McGann company (at his request) while he was signing a whole giant batch of prints at Big Finish Day 4. He was saying he was so sick of it, and making jokes about what the different autographs looked like they said, saying he needed a new name, a butch name. (We later on gave him the name Maximus Herkules the Eighth, which he said was perfect.)

And then Norah/alljustletters suggested he tried signing with his left hand. He was amazed, after all these years of signing, he'd never thought of that. And yeah, this is how it turned out, and he gave it to Norah. :D

Giving Paul art and getting him to sign things and having a quick chat. First conversation of the day, barring the first greeting and him complimenting my costume when taking photos earlier that day. Already he was just a complete sweetheart.
