Soon, Madeleine turns five. Reuben can’t believe it, a whole 5 years of living this dream of a life with Eugene and her, he can’t imagine being happier than he is right now. Eugene had got promoted into a chef role and he’d been able to sell some of his paintings. Life was better than good. 

Yet, sometimes, Reuben can’t stop this feeling in his chest, a bitter, cold feeling that threatens to ruin his little dream. He wishes he could talk to Eugi or even Sylvie about it, but he fears that he’ll be disappointing them. And Esther-Jo, his oldest friend, was also his little sister that looked up to her brave big brother, she was also all the way in Simerica. He had no one he could turn to.
