chapter seven of don’t want to miss a thing is posted. please be warned, it’s a heavy one.

okay so, i chose the name natsuko because lis and leafa have pink and blonde hair and they wear red and green outfits, like this ship from a different anime whose names are natsu and lucy and they have pink hair and blonde hair and wear red and green outfits. so like. natsuko, shortened to natsu. and i just adore the name

dwtmat!natsuko is suguha and rika's daughter (and kazuto's, technically) and she's obviously a twin (but i'm determined to not spoil his name too lol) - and she's like. tiny little ivf rainbow precious angel baby.

mtjaf!natsuko is a toddler who makes her mums and her uncles freak out every other day because she's just chaos (affectionate), and she's suguha and rika's daughter (mtjaf!rika is a trans woman)

fwbb!natsuko is suguha and shinichi's daughter, which means the entire reason i even chose that name is now irrelevant xD

but like. they aren't the same kid at all. dwtmat!natsu is a fetus but when she's born she's just such a chill baby, who's evenrually gonna be this super chill girly girl toddler. like. mtjaf!natsu is fun to write lol, she's loud and boisterous and so fun and she's such a tomboy. and the fwbb!natsu is super quiet and shy, she likes sitting and reading more than playing and she's her mum's shadow, like she just clings to her (or to midori or asuna or kazuto).

idk, i just find it funny that they all have the same name and mostly the same family and similar backstories but they're not the same character at all. i reverse engineered nana.

YES i named one of the dwtmat babies natsuko so i could shorten it to natsu bc their moms have pink and blonde hair

hey yeah, how's yui feel about having cousins in dwtmat??

shes super excited for it!! she wants to meet them and get to play with them, and the chapter i'm working on right now has some cute yui stuff, she's just generally excited and she's gonna hug sugu's belly SO MUCH when she's further along. like. the girls are gonna get to the house for dinner and yui's just going to cling to her the whole time she's there

also tbf i'm tempted to write a scene where some kid her age tries to tell her how babies are made in school or something and she's there like "no that isn't how it works, i was grown in a lab in 4 months and my aunty sugu said that my cousins got made in a big needle that they put in her tummy"

what's dwtmat yui like??

okay so dwtmat exists like. in the normal sao universe. it isn't an au or anything (its set just a few years after the end of wou/ur). so yui's pretty much just the same as regular yui, except in the real world

so sao still existed in dwtmat, so does alo and project alicization etc. so dwtmat yui is like... a robot/human hybrid kinda thing

her physical body was created essentially through ivf, just without the actual pregnancy. (stay with me). with... extremely advanced medical science and also some suspension of disbelief, yui is pretty much grown in a lab at rath from literally conception to the age of around ten years old, in a matter of a few months. biologically she's kazuto and asuna's kid, and they ensure that she'll look as similar to her virtual counterpart as possible.

and then she runs on an artificial fluctlight, so. kikuoka essentially just fused yui's data with a lightcube and then inserted that cube into this biological human's brain... somehow. we aren't going to get into how that would work, it's vaguely implied that they wanna do shit like this at some point anyway, just go with it

anyway, once they know she's fine, she goes back home to the kirigayas and they're just a happy family. kazuto sometimes has to take her to check she's still doing okay and she gets sensory overload A Lot (she has robot autism, me too kid) but she's happy!!

and kazuto asuna and yui still live in the kirigaya house with midori and minetaka. asuna moves in a little while after she and kazuto get engaged. midori and minetaka love being with their grandbaby and suguha and rika try to visit at least once a week, she's very loved and spoilt by the whole family lol

i started reading dwtmat yesterday and it's so cute!! im 2 chapters in but i love how excited they are and how uncle kazuto is almost more excited sjkgbsd

sugu and rika are gonna be smiling holding their new babies while kazuto runs screaming through the hospital and gets himself shot in the ass with a horse tranquilliser by a nurse

okay we had 2 votes for dwtmat here is a tiny bit (that will be edited etc) of the next chapter, i’ve been so stressed today that i haven’t had a chance to sit down and write but i will hopefully be free to finish writing and do a decent amount of editing for this chapter tomorrow
