Week 3: Most Memorable Years Week

The 14 remaining couples dive into their personal lives for dance inspiration. 2 couples are sent home afterwards.

MOST MEMORABLE YEARS

JARED LETO – 1985: Jared describes how this song shaped his childhood and later adult life; the dance is about Jared coming out of his shell. TROYE SIVAN – 2014: Troye’s first EP, TRXYE, is released, which is one of Troye’s biggest accomplishments; “Happy Little Pill” is the EP’s first single. BOB ODENKIRK – 1987: Bob is hired as a writer for Saturday Night Live; the dance is about Bob embracing his quirks. BILLIE LOURD – 1994: Billie’s mother and father separate when she is 2 years old; the dance is about Billie’s life after the separation. ALFREDO MORALES – 2013: Alfredo is recruited to join the German soccer team, FC Ingolstadt 04; the dance is a representation of Alfredo’s dreams coming true. VIN DIESEL – 2013: Vin’s co-star and close friend, Paul Walker, passes away in a car crash; the dance is a tribute to Walker (the song is from Furious 7). ARIELLE VANDENBERG – 2016: Arielle’s most memorable year is – now! Her dance celebrates her accomplishments in life and the friends she’s made along the road. JESS GLYNNE – 2014: Jess’s most popular song, “Rather Be”, a collaboration with Clear Bandit, is released and is insanely popular. COLIN JOST – 2005: Colin is hired as a writer for Saturday Night Live; the dance is about Colin’s acceptance into the bustling city of New York. CARRIE FISHER – 1973: Carrie’s dance pays homage to the start of her long and successful career, which Carrie “owes her life to”. UZO ADUBA – 2013: Uzo is cast as Suzanne Warren (Crazy Eyes) in the groundbreaking Netflix series, Orange Is the New Black; her dance is about Suzanne making a prison break. LUKE HEMMINGS – 2011: Luke and his friends post cover songs to their YouTube account and later rise to fame as 5 Seconds of Summer; the dance is about “the good ole days”. RAINI RODRIGUEZ – 2006: Raini snags her first acting role; the dance is about Raini’s accomplishments and how she has grown from them. ZELDA WILLIAMS – 2014: Zelda’s father, Robin, passes away from suicide caused from depression; Zelda’s dance is about a girl with depression and how help (Val) is calling to her.

Week 2: Guilty Pleasures Week

All 16 couples dance to some of their favorite guilty pleasures. As 2 are automatically sent home, one third couple is still in jeopardy with the Judge’s Save Challenge!

After his Cha-Cha-Cha, it’s revealed that unfortunately, Alex & Karina have been the first of two couples to be eliminated after last week’s votes were tallied.

After her Tango, it’s revealed that unfortunately, Debbie & Sasha have been the second of two couples to be eliminated after last week’s votes were tallied.

Judge’s Save Challenge

Following Luke & Lindsay’s Tango, Kendall reveals to the cast that the third lowest scoring couple, after Week 1 scores and votes were tallied, was Carrie & Mark. A bit shocked, Carrie & Mark agree to redo their Argentine Tango in hopes of being saved by the judges. A 2/3 vote from the judges is required for a save.

Judge’s Verdict:      RYAN - SAVE      TRENT - NO SAVE      NATALIE (deciding vote) - SAVE

As Ryan and Natalie chose to save Carrie & Mark, they are SAFE! This means that there is a double elimination next week.
