He’s freaking out. He’s really freaking out. Seriously--he’s out sick for two days with the flu, and he has this much catchup work?! Not to mention he’s got work to do at home, too...
“What did I ever do to deserve this?” he whines to the empty classroom, placing his forehead on the cool flatness of the desk.

Questions about the writing process.
♕ - What are 5 writing tips you’d give to beginners?
Keep writing!! Like, seriously, don’t give up because you think you suck. I’m gonna be honest, no one picks up their pen and is an absolute literary genius. It took me years to get to where I am now, and I still have a very long way to go. But you have to keep writing to get better!
You’ll get into writing slumps. They happen. They can be only a couple of hours long to several weeks long. (I’ve gone months without writing before.) Don’t let them discourage you, though. Try to push through it by finding prompts that interest you or changing characters. If you can’t push through it this time, that’s okay. Sometimes you need to take breaks. Sometimes you need to reread materials that remind you of your character. Sometimes you need to listen to music. Read metas. Whatever helps you get through your slump. Just don’t beat yourself up over them.
Research what you’re talking about. You don’t gotta be an expert, but you should at least have a basic idea of what your character is about. If your character is, for example, a kendoka (uses peko for my example), then do a little research about kendo! Learn the basics of it and what makes up kendo, what makes it important, etc. You don’t have to do super in-depth unless you plan to talk super in-depth about it.
Draw from your own experiences! Although you want to avoid projecting all of you on a character, it doesn’t hurt to use what you have gone through/experienced personally to help you write something better. It can help you understand some things about your character better, in some cases.
Be brave. One of the most harmful things to my writing is my anxiety. To share it, to know other people are reading it, to not know what people think of it or me, it’s terrifying. It makes me water things down and hold my muse back, and the end result is a very mild, kinda boring/stale piece. So be a little brave; if it takes that tiny burst of courage to post something, then take that opportunity. And I promise your writing is never as bad as you think it is.
✏ - Why did you choose your muse?
lmAO I was hoping I wouldn’t get this question. I am being 100% serious when I picked Peko because my favourite ship was KuzuPeko after I finished SDR2. I did like her a lot outside of the ship, but it took me a while to separate her from it, which happened after I began RPing her and realized I didn’t really interact with Kuzuryuus. (And I still don’t have any Kuzuryuus I interact with.) I still struggled with understanding her, though, until I remade her this year.
☆ - How did you go about getting a grip on your muse’s character?
Implied in the last question’s answer, I had to completely disregard any interactions with Kuzus to be able to separate Peko from her role as their bodyguard and comprehend her person. I also reread her parts from SDR2, watched all of her free time events, etc. I’m still not very confident in my understanding of her, but with rereadings & using my own experiences/feelings to help me, I guess I have an okay grip on her character. People don’t give me a whole lot of feedback, so like I said, I lack a lot of confidence in my portrayal of her.
♎ - What is one thing you love about your writing?
I love how I can step all the way into other characters’ shoes. It’s something I pride myself on a lot—my understanding of character psychology and shit. Even if my writing is a little bland, I can at least trust that my characters are fleshed out people of their own. That’s very important to me as well.
