1. One of the several scientist mutuals whom I’m intimidated by. Genuinely just very smart and interesting, and also so extremely reasonable at all times. Rigorous standards that mean you love to say things like “it depends on xyz” and “here’s a link to the study I’m referencing.” Breath of fresh air honestly.

2. One of the few people who is on tumblr as much as I am, I think. I love hearing about your day and mouse tasks and to do lists and The Bullshit you’re experiencing.

3. Consistently one of the most interesting writers I’ve read. Banger after banger. I want to get into the source material you’ve posted fanfic for so that I can read your fic about it. Goes down like a shot of tequila: concentrated, burns like fire, makes me feel insane.

🎬 repressed housewifeism. due to My Problems.

yayyyy thank you!! received this message and thought surely this will be easy I love a repressed housewife and then went to the archives (my letterboxd) and realized that so many of my fav repressed women movies are in fact not actually about housewives! tragic!! this must be remedied!

anyways I’m immediately breaking my own rules to do multiple movies and start with The Stepford Wives (1975) which like. you know the premise of lmao it’s very good and I think like. she’s not necessarily particularly repressed but it’s definitely largely about enforcing repression onto housewives. and then for an older and more obscure pick I’m gonna say Craig’s Wife (1936) dir. Dorothy Arzner (yay) which was later remade into a less good movie called Harriet Craig which does have the benefit of having Joan Crawford (though the original has Rosalind Russell who I’m of course also in love with) it’s literally just about a seemingly cold/emotionless, controlling wife. yay!

You might not be the main character, but you're still very important. You're the older, or at least wiser one, who guides all those little youngins to victory. I have the perfect match!! I was JUST thinking about this movie today: Excision (2012). It’s about a teenage girl who gets obsessed with doing DIY surgery on her sick sister. She’s like, THE greasy dirtbag teenage girl of all time. I love her so much.

It’s so stylish! There’s actually not that much gore by run time, but when there is gore, it’s extravagant.

I have a deeply beloved brown butter bourbon that, last I checked, was only available for sale in nevada and massachusetts. it's a bourbon with a kind of nutty caramel flavor, with a level of sweetness that is more than "slight" but significantly less than "flavored vodka you drink in college." I've mainly done old fashioneds with it, plus root beer floats one time. thoughts? 👀

Oooh!! Fab I’m actually going to Colorado for my best friend’s birthday this year so I could potentially make this for her. I feel like browned butter = warm = a hot toddy??? Bourbon + boiling water + lemon + honey. I’d add some mulled spices though…anise seed pod, cinnamon stick, cardamom pod…sometime warm and wintery.

OPTION 2: a ginger rabbit. This reminds me of Jessica Rabbit, who is a lesbian to me the same way Cereal Killer is a lesbian to me. Which is to say I have no evidence except that I’ve discussed extensively with my wife. Anyways. What was I saying? A ginger rabbit is black tea + ginger + lemon peel + crème Yvette, a berry liqueur.
