“ so , have you and carter ever fucked ? ” her tone is all too casual for such an abrupt question , highlighting her need to mask her skepticism . if asked , she won’t admit the reasoning behind her recent spark of envy , but maybe they’ve reached far enough in their relationship for dylan to realize just how well things have been going — a feeling that is always too good to be true in her book . she turns around to meet max’s attention , fingers tracing behind her and over the surface of the vanity , before showcasing untroubled features as her brow raises just slightly .
