he wasn’t scheduled to start for another hour. that didn’t stop him from arriving early and sitting in the breakroom. autumn had a thing about being punctual. if he’s on time he’s late. something that his father drilled into his brain at a young age. the time in the breakroom was spent on facetime with his daughter brie. it was her bedtime so he decided to call her and tell her one of the famous stories of princess brie. this one was about her journey to slay the dragon. why wait for someone else to come do it when she had the strength and power to slay it herself? he was nearing the end of the story when he noticed dylan at the doorway. it was hard to conceal his embarrassment. the blush on his cheeks betrayed him. quickly, he wrapped up the story and said goodnight to brie and odette. “heh, sorry about that. bed time for my daughter. i couldn’t skip out on the story.” he felt awkward. it’s not like dylan didn’t know about brie. plus he was doing it out in the open. the risk of someone walking in was high.
