#TBT #Throwbackthursday #chefportraits #hotdogprops #Mustard #ketchup #rubberhotdog #locationportraits • Several years ago, a friend of mine @karamasi started an event called #thegreathotdogcookoff to raise funds for city harvest and other food based charities in the NYC area. There would be a meet and greet party a few weeks before the main event and my contribution was to photograph the participating amateur hotdog chefs. I’d setup a quick portrait studio using Dynalites, Mola Beauty dish and seamless paper in the backyard. • The fun part was letting each personality and quirkiness shine through. The only direction I gave was they had to use a prop anyway they saw fit. We had a rubber hotdog, tongs, giant BBQ fork and condiment dispensers. • The first time it was photographed, we used a bright yellow backdrop to symbolize mustard. The following year we used red for ketchup and the year after green for relish. • #canonbringit #molabeautydish #dynalite #dynaliteflash
