Could you share something from 'Error 38'? Sounds super interesting!

I absolutely can Sasha, let's go, this probably gonna get long and messy so I apologise in advance

I wanted to write a human nature au where Rose doesn't fall for John, because while I love that trope I think it would be too hard for her to be so close to everything she's fought to get back to but so far at the same time. As well as wanting to play with Martha's jealousy a little too which is kinda mean but I think it would be an interesting dynamic with Martha torn between John's love (who treats her awfully) and the Doctor's love (who's really the only person who understands what travelling with the Doctor is like). The POV also alternates every chapter because I'm trying to challenge myself with writing Martha's POV more and I think it works well with this story

So the master creating a paradox and then time being undone messes up the equations for the dimension canon because instead of being a 3 year difference between the universes it's all over the place. So as Rose is hopping the dimension canon catches on fire and she ends up stranded. I'm playing on the prejudices of the time by having Rose be labelled as simple by the staff at farringham, which I feel a little uncomfortable about but it would help Rose dismiss any missteps she made.

So she's been there about a month when Martha and John arrive. Martha is immediately suspicious of her thinking she might be one of the family. And Rose has given up on finding the Doctor until! She takes tea to John only to realise he has a single heartbeat. Eventually Martha confronts Rose and they end up as kinda allies

I'm not sure where I'm gonna end this yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to take it up to the Master's arc but we shall see

Here's the opening because obviously this post isn't long enough already:

Rose had been having a day of it. The dimension cannon she’d been working on with her team in the hopes of travelling across the void back to the Doctor was being extra temperamental. To be fair it wasn’t the most cooperative piece of equipment at the best of times. It required careful monitoring of the void and it’s boundaries to navigate. The slightest change in void energy could throw them off entirely. 

The time differentials between different universes was a complication in of itself, not usually one they worried about though. But as of late, it seemed that the void energy of her primary universe was acting particularly erratic and out of sync with Pete’s own.

None of that had concerned Rose when she’d stepped onto the platform of the dimension cannon that morning - they’d been working on downsizing the machine, making it more compact but such trials had made jumps even more unpredictable - her only focus being on getting back to the man she’d loved and lost. But just as they’d pulled the lever to send her away an alarm had sounded, shrouding the room in red flashing light just before a fire had started on one of the computer banks.

Could you tell us more about #10 on your wips? 🥺

Absolutely! 10 is [Error: 38] a human nature au which I spoke a bit about here as well. Unrelated fact, but the 38 is because its the 8th episode in the third series. I want Rose and Martha to have it out for them to come to an understanding because Martha really is in an unfortunate position here caught between Rose, Joan and her own feelings for the Doctor. I also kinda of want Rose to punch John because she can't believe any version of the Doctor would act that way and then she apologises to Martha for not letting her deal with the situation.

Anyway, because the pov's alternate in this story there's sometimes overlap between two chapters because I love seeing the same moment from a different perspective I think its a funny way to see the differences between characters so here's a snippet from chapter six from Martha's pov

The servant laughed, patting her on the shoulder before leaving them to it.

But despite what she'd said, what the staff believe and what she'd twisted her face to show, Martha could tell she knew a lot more than she was saying. Rose held her gaze, the innocent wide eyed look still in place, but there was a challenge held in their depths and the quick quirk of her eyebrow. They stared at each other for several moments, the silent acknowledgement that they knew.

And then Rose dropped her gaze and her challenge, returning to her equations, as if had never happened, as if Martha hadn't seen beyond the illusion.

They needed to talk, now more than ever. But not here, Martha decided leaning back on her side of the bench.

And then Rose's pov

Rose held Martha’s gaze even after the servant had taken their seat. The innocent wide eyed look still carefully in place, but there was a challenge held in their depths and the quick quirk of her eyebrow only for Martha to see if she should choose to. She was testing her, she knew. She needed to know whether Martha could see beyond her mask, could be trusted to do so.

They stared at each other for several moments, the silent acknowledgement that they both knew something about the other, something about the games they were both playing.

And then Rose dropped her gaze and her challenge, returning to her equations, as if it had never happened, as if Martha hadn't seen beyond the illusion to begin with.

I really want to reread these works and get back into writing them now 😂

So tell us more about these four new wips of yours

Oh hell yeah, course I can tell you more about what I've been working on lets goooo

Okay so first we've got Agents Across the Void:

A TentooxRose story set in the near future of Pete's World, inspired by the 'multiple earths' line in Spyfall part 1 but including parallels as well as times. People have been turning up empty just like in the primary universe and as Torchwood agents they're trying to figure out why and how to stop it. But then the breach that was originally caused by the cybermen crossing over becomes active again and out pops.... Thirteen! Now the three of them have to work together to stop the Kasavin and get the Doctor home

I intended for this one to be a short story so I'm trying to finish it before I start posting it as what normally happens is a I post a chapter then get distracted and yall left waiting for an update. I'm on chapter 5 atm

Next is We're Just Names in Stone:

A vampire diaries fic set in season 4. Caroline stops the Gilberts from killing Kol and as a result she and Bonnie end up being kidnapped by him in his quest to prevent Silas' rise. Caroline is leverage against Klaus and Bonnie is the key for the ritual. He goes to New Orleans where he gets a witch to link him and Caroline and block Bonnie's magic. At some point Klaus and Rebekah join the fray and they set off to find a coven that may know something about Silas' cult. Instead of just stopping him from rising they want to destroy Silas for good and are obviously met with resistance. I wanted to change how they needed to destroy Silas because the whole cure then just bam felt to simple especially in comparison to the specifics needed to kill Dahlia.

This one is probably gonna end up kinda long so I'm working on editing the first chapter to maybe post, I'm writing chapter 3 atm tho

Then we have [Error: 38]:

A human nature au. While working on the dimension cannon something goes wrong and Rose ends up stuck in 1913 England a month before Martha and the Doctor arrive. Pretending to be a simpleminded amnesiac she sets herself up at Farrington's. Martha is suspicious of her immediately as working for the family. Eventually they come clean to each other, giving them each an ally in 1913. John still falls for Joan because Rose is keeping her distance from him as its too painful to be around a man wearing the Doctor's face. Leaving Martha stuck in a position where she's crushing on the Doctor watching him fall in love with another while the woman he loves remains unaware.

This is one I'm planning on being short and finishing before posting, currently on part 9

And lastly we have All Evidence Suggests:

A merlin magic reveal fic. I wrote a drabble for this on my main blog before deciding I wanted to expand on it some more and turn it into a short fic. Essentially while dealing with a magic creature that can only be felled by magic Arthur catches Merlin preforming magic. But in the spur of the battle he dismisses it convinces himself it didn't happen. Over the coming days he keeps a closer eye on Merlin and catches him preforming magic on several more occasions. He becomes conflicted on what to do and its during this time that he realises he's probably the last to have figured it out.

This one will probably end up being short, I wanted to do a Merlin rewatch so I could figure somethings out logistic wise but ended up doing a TVDu rewatch instead

I then also had the idea of doing a Kennett fic where Kol crosses through Bonnie when the other side is collapsing rather than going through with Esther's plan to become a witch. I'm not sure where I'm taking that one yet. Whether he'll go to NOLA to help his siblings against Esther, or if he'd take Damon's place in the prison world or join Damon and Bonnie idk

But yeah that's what I've been doing instead of any of the stories I said I was gonna work on  😂

Me: *has most of chapter 15 of golden girl written with chapter 17 started too, most of the updated version of chapter 8 of unwanted destiny done, the next 2 chapters of decay written* now that exams are finished I'll have time to write

Also me: *unable to finish any of them cus I got distracted starting 4 new stories* this isn't what I meant
