Mag 19 - Confession
Edwin Boroughs, 30.05.2011, Oxford.
Edwin begins the first part of his statement regarding a supposed demonic possession. He was arrested in 2009 for the murder and partial-cannibalism of two students.
He served as an exorcist for the Oxford diocese from 2005 to 2009, with Father Harrogate. He performed over a hundred exorcisms of “supernatural” events of varying credibility, when his colleague mentioned a student of his - Bethany O’Connor - who might need some guidance.
Edwin agreed to help her, having been told that she was having a difficult time distinguishing fact and fiction, and arranged to meet her at her student dorm on 89 Bullingdon rd. The wallpaper in her room has been ripped off with the word “Mentis” written onto the bare brick, which she couldn’t see. He performed a short blessing and left, deciding to perform a full exorcism later, only to be called by the John Radcliffe hospital that Bethany had gotten in a fight with housemates and fallen into a mirror. He attempts to exorcise her, and she says “I’m sorry, it wants your faith”. She suffers from a hemorrhage and dies.
He started to drink over the next few years, and was no longer allowed to perform exorcisms. In 2009, Annie - a nurse from the hospital - called and told him a builder had had a scare on hilltop road. Edwin investigated, finding Ivo Lensik. When he began to perform his blessing, he felt unbearably hot and feels his lips moving on their own, repeating “I am not for you, I am marked.”
The tree falls down in the yard and the heat stops. Edwin leaves.
Notes: The statement is incomplete but finishes in MAG 20. “Mentis” is mind in latin. Tim and Sasha work on this.
