What better place to share my fan art for a niche interest with no (artist) fandom than Tumblr? Lately I've really been obsessed with a Romanian folk metal band that I learned about from my dad 🥹 called E-an-na. If E-an-na has no fans it means we are dead. it's genuinely so peak but I can't share my joy with anyone else because they sing in Romanian 😭😭😭
So have some silly doodles of Solomonar, the vocalist & woodwind player, because why not. To y'all this may not make any sense, but they're still just quick doodles, appreciate them for the artistic value 🙂↕️

So , 70% of my friends are from other countries and well..., I speak with them in english so we can understand each other, of course. And there's no problem with that! :D
I'm happy we can communicate with each other and they're really cool and awesome people and I hold them dearly to my soul :3
And like, having friends from other countries is also fun because sometimes you get to learn things you didn't know about said country! Like, things you can only know from a native person of that country, you know?
The real problem is:
When I want to show them a video or something like that that's in my native language .
"But why don't you translate it? :0 "
Good question!! The thing is , I tried. But most of the time I literally can't do that ಥ‿ಥ
Because let's say I found a funny video in my language and I want to send it to them . But that funny video contains slang words that are specific to my country. And I literally don't know how to translate that in english so it can make sense to them!! ( ；∀；)
Or maybe let's say I want to send them a song I really like that it's in my native language! E-An-Na is a folk-metal band I really like! And recently I wanted to share a song from them with a friend .
Luckily I found a site that translated the lyrics of the song :

But listening to it while reading the lyrics is not as awesome as just listening to the song and vibing with it . And I feel bad for that , because they can't experience it the way I do ಥ╭╮ಥ
And there are just so many more things like that. When you want to show your friends something, but it's a bit difficult to translate it because it's in your native language.
I hate when things like this are happening. And it happens so many times. When it does happen, sometimes I just wish my friends would magically know romanian in that moment so they can understand the funny video, song , etc.
Life is hard and I hate this. Because you are so excited to show your friends something but then you realise
"Oh...oh wait they don't understand the language....and I can't properly translate this...oh no...life sucks"
So yeah, this was my little long , much longer than I thought it would be , rant . For some reason I just felt the need to let it out in the void of the internet because it has happened to me way too many times.
Has this ever happened to you? No need to tell me an experience or something like that. Just yes or no. I'm curious if I'm the only one who gets frustrated over something like this .

I - E-An-Na
ROMANIAN FOLK METAL PLEASE I NEED TO SEE AT LEAST ONE ROMANIAN BAND HERE
Saw an enthusiastic submission for a band from a country that I've never heard music from and decided to check it out. Very much worth my time holy amazing combanations of instruments. Flute, bagpikes & accordion? All things I love to see would reccomend. My words aren't doing them justice.
II - Alien Weaponry
They had their first album at 16/17 years old. They are native to New Zealand or have native family (most of which are in the video). Very anti imperialism, uses haka's with metal music, it works great.
Saw this and was curious. Listened and enjoyed. Worth checking out. For those curious, the other band I was refencing in the "if i had a euro for every..." post was Shepherds Reign, a Samoan singing Polynesian group based out of New Zealand. Equally awesome.
III - Fejd
Nearly acoustic band that still played Wacken twice and released 3 albums via Napalm. Honorary metal band, basically. Fourth album is also strictly speaking metal though.
Honestly I'm just a sucker for this kind of thing. I don't know exactly what to say here otyher than great music , but don't take my lack of words for them being any less worth a listen.
Bonus: From Myself - Metsatöll
Estonian folk metal! Because I'm a big fan of some good flute playing in metal, and these guys are my go-to for that. Also, I've learned that there's at least three ways you could refer to wolves in estonian from them. They've been around for a while, and have a pretty solid discogrphy for all your vowel harmony lacking urallic language needs. Flutes!
E-an-na is hard to characterise and addictive to listen to. Here's what they say about themselves on their website:
"Humankind bows to pieces of paper or plastic, without which life cannot mannifest itself anymore. Surrounded by so many wrongs moral and life values, raised to undeserved ranks, we chose as such: if this world is not enough for us, then we shall find a new one. This is how E-an-na has been born. Or, at least, this is how we unveiled it. E-an-na is a realm of ours, towards which we left, foreseeing the ending in this world. A realm where breath is still green. In which birds sing tirelessly and rivers don’t have unnatural colours. A home of the sky."
They're definitely a surreal band for me, but a very good one. Let them continuously surprise you!
