How does one spend leasure time in Mumbai? The answer is to a sertain extent crystal clear: one goes to endless forums and festifals. And i am not joking! Mumbai is full of it. Every weekend there is something going on.
On the weekend of 28th- 29th January our Mumbai crew went to check out the Entrepreneurship Summit 2012 at the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbay. The IIT is an alternative to the American MIT, huge campus, beautiful location, massive scale.
The two-day conference was full of events: from speakers and panel discussions to competitions and games.
On day one, the day started with the key note speaker R. Sriram, Founder of Crossword & Next Practice retails. Biswaroop Chakraborty, the VP of Deutsche Bank, CIB Centre, addressed the audience on trading strategy. Jim Beach, a Co-founder of School for Startups, talked about Myths of Entrepreneurship, while Christian De Need, the Founder of Fast Track Consulting, talked about the Future of Innovation. There were also numerous workshops named Idea Generation, Know your Entrepreneurial DNA, Role of Entrepreneurship in Innovation and Rockstars of Value Proposition (this one taught how to WOW the customer from famous singers).
On day two, a stellar lineup of speaker sessions and workshops was there to fulfill everyone's understanding of interesting. Gaurav Gupta, Regional Director of Dalberg for Asia; Haresh Chawla, Ex-CEO of Network 18; VSS Mani, Founder of JustDial.com; Rehan Yar Khan, an Entrepreneur and Angel Investor. The list goes on.
Meanwhile Panel discussions on wide range of topics took place in neibouring auditoriums: Funding ecosystem in India; Challenges of a Entrepreneur; business Innovation. And International workshops on «9 Ways to Build a Brand», «Thought Leadership», «Social Media Marketing», «Collaborative Innovation» . Everyone seemed to have found at least something that would suit the needs. Sometimes the guys were rejected entry as there were way too many people in the room!
All in all, this seemed like one memorable event for those who attended. I only heard positive feedback and was happy so many of us were there. Stepan with his PR background had even originated a little Skolkovo PR campaing. Go Stepan! Go Skolkovo!
