On the Rise (feat Es, O-Phrap & E-Yo) - Elaquent

When I was growing up I largely ignored hip hop. Not completely. I dipped my toe in De la Soul, dabbled with Jurassic 5 and experimented with UK Hip Hop. But I never got stuck in.

Its such a giant of a genre and I don't like taking half measures. I was tackling Grunge, Indie Rock, Rock'n'Roll, Ska Punk and then later, Blues, Soul, Funk, and recently all the different flavours of electronic music and the incredible variety of music from cultures different from my own.

Hip Hop has remained the elephant in the room, albeit an elephant with a limp, chain, and a can on spray held in its trunk. Anyway, recently I've been giving it the attention it deserves.  

Here's a track called On the Rise by Elaquent feat. Es, O-Phrap & E-Yo. He's a modern hip-hop producer from Canada, and this is from his 2010 album Persona. I really like it.
