I pre-ordered Dance of a Burning Sea a while back after falling so in love with Song of the Forever Rains. It then got backordered and I was afraid I would never get it but it's here, it's beautiful, and I can't wait to start it.

Why is nobody talking about E.J. Mellow’s Song of the Forever Rains and Dance of a Burning Sea?

The writing is incredibly beautiful. These books immediately transport you into this world of magic, intrigue, and whimsy. The way the author is able to describe something as mundane as clothing makes me swoon. I literally feel like I’m dreaming when I read these books.

It’s a very whimsical dark fantasy trilogy (not finished yet) about 3 sisters and their own respective journeys. The first book features a forbidden love story in Scotland, the second book features an enemies to lovers pirate romance.

The character journeys are so beautifully tied into the plot as well. The focus of the series is on both the hero and the heroine’s pivotal journeys of self acceptance and love. It’s definitely not insta-love, but also not a slow burn if that makes sense. The pacing is definitely on the slower side and it’s more of a relaxing read. She also creatively uses a lot of fun tropes so 10/10 recommend this series.

The series is YA/NA (🌶🌶/5 on the spice scale). It’s on KU so no excuses please read it thanks 🥰
